So this mask is super awesome! it blocks 100% light and has held itself up to a spin cycle. The velcro isnt ever coming apart its some super strong stuff. Light coming through the window I cant see with it on mid day, and thats about when I normally get a bunch of my sleep. So it lives up to just about everything I could ask for it.
I only docked a star because when reading reviews for this mask I was informed it came with other things, Like a little pouch for how to take care of the mask and everything and how to clean it, and I only got what appeared to be the same advertising creds as whats on the sheet.. I'm not sure If I can just throw it in the washer or anything like that or what really needs done, and that is 100% my ignorance, but it just appears like I'm missing something that another review/comment on this mask mentioned they had gotten.
Well worth the money, the only way it could be better is had it included that, and if the foam around the nose was just a little deeper as it does require a little extra adjustment to get it right, at least a little more than youd probably expect, but doing it just like I (again online read from the manufacturer) follow the instructions of pressing the mask down and wiggling it up towards the top of your head, and down towards the bottom gently, which seals all the gaps. Pretty good stuff.
Update: Prompt response from the company I couldn't quickly respond to changes this to a five star review.
I will note that I have begun to blackout my room at night, though this sleep mask would still be what your looking for if you are unable to do that. All this time later and it still 100% blocks the light in the room. I just have found that also after all this time the actual strap has become loose with no ability to properly adjust it further, so while it blocks 100% of the light still, it also flies off now during my spin cycle at night.
Now you might think that would dock a star but, I don't properly take care of this thing for one which likely contributes to its ability to hold tight to my head. Also, this is still the best out of the 10 or so masks I've properly tried over the years to achieve this effect, many deform, or loose their ability to block light by this point, which this one positively has failed to do. it blocks 100% of light, and I think that's the goal. I just don't think we have a good enough strap design on any sleep mask so far to effectively hold one to my head all night forever, and I cant think of a good way to fix that problem.

Quality Sleep Mask with excellent light blocking, but gets uncomfortably warm so I rarely use it

(updated 9-29-2016) I have tried nearly a dozen eye masks over the past year. The perfect mask would not touch the eyelids, provide a good light-blocking fit, not get hot with extended use, be light in weight, and not require the strap to be too tight to fit. Unfortuntately, this is not it.
From a light blocking perspective, this is a very nice mask that uses memory foam to form cups around the eyes and has small silk pillows for the hard-to-fit nose / upper cheekbone area that challenges most masks. When it first came it was very stiff and didn't fit well, letting light in at the top and sides to the point where I almost returned it. However, after few several uses it softened up and now fits very well with near-perfect light blocking.
Unfortunately, it has one significant downside -- it tends to get warm after about 1/2 hour of use to the point where my eye area feels uncomfortable and sometimes even starts to sweat. I personally find it so uncomfortable that I will not use it for any extended time (e.g. napping or sleeping).
I have not observed this heating around the eye with any of the molded contoured masks I have purchased -- they appear to let the eye area breathe and are noticeably cooler. Unfortunately, with those types I have not yet been able to find one that provides perfect light-blocking around the nose / cheekbone area, so I am still searching for the perfect eye mask.
Weight wise it is a little heavier than the others.

This is probably the best sleep mask that I have used, and I have tried many. Well made and very effective keeping out light even around my nose which has always been the first place that I have some light leak on others that I have purchased. As some others mentioned it is a little stiff but not so much to have any effect on the performance. The only thing that kept me from giving this mask a 5-star rating was the black marks that it left on my pillow when I first used it. I had not washed it before using it even though others have recommended that to soften the mask, but as I did not think the mask was that stiff. So I put it through a wash cycle in my washing machine and it still left black marks on the pillow. I had to wash it 4 times to get it to stop. Whatever dye they are using for the material around the edges is poor quality and needs to be changed to one that will not bleed off on a pillowcase. Once this is solved this would be the perfect mask.
Out of dozens I've tried, this is by far the best.

So, first off, my experience with face masks began about 5-6 years ago, when I started going to college. I began day-sleeping far more often than not, and an eye mask was the only way to go. That said, (until I bought this particular mask) I was rotating through a different eye mask every 3-6 months. I tried every popular eye mask concept on the market, from the "Jessica Day cutsie eye mask makeup protector" to "microwaveable microbead freezable headache relief eyemask"s. With every single one, ultimately, there was some unavoidable and detractive issue.
Then I bought this one. My infinite search is finally over. IF this one ever does wear down or fail, I'll just keep ordering another of this same one.
Features:
* HUGE: The tall face mask covers so much. The model in the picture must have a large forehead. My mask covers from my hairline all the way down to the side of where my nose ends (like in the picture). This means that there's none of that sneaky light leak from a little hole above your eyes. Total seal.
* Nose hole: My nose must be oddly shaped, because this is the first mask that has actually sealed on all sides of the nose cutout. Not only that, but on the inside of the nose cutout, there's a nice border of a cushy protective fabric that even further helps to seal light out. It's breathable and doesn't leave marks, that I've found.
* Eye holes: So, I will say, there have been other eye masks who elevate off the eyes much further than this one. There are slight indents for the eye holes, but they're not very deep. For reference, I have average length eyelashes. I can open my eyes all the way, and the very tips of my eyelashes brush against the mask. It's not enough to bother me, but may be a factor for someone else. Personally, I like that I can slightly feel it. I had one too many instances with the full-open-eye masks where I forgot I was wearing it and freaked out because I thought I went blind. lol
* Thick, soft fabric: The fabric for this thing is phenomenal. It's thick, ZERO light passes through (even at the thinnest points), and super soft on both sides. I've had mine now for a few months without washing it (ew, gross, I know), and it's still as soft as day one. Also, the fabric isn't 'sticky' enough to pick up any stray items that it finds on my bed (like fleece - some other eyemasks have done this).
* Firm, but gentle elastic bands: The band going around is super wide, and it's the good stuff. It seems to hold it's elasticity over time, but I will update this review if I find that changes. It's a strong elastic, but it's gentle on my head. There are no parts where it hurts, bites, or pulls. It's just THERE and it's so comfortable. I have a small head, so I've had to close the velcro all the way, which leaves a long tail of elastic/velcro to wrap around. However, my boyfriend was able to cut that excess off and sew the end shut so it's no problem.
I truly cannot think of a downside, and I'm highly particular when it comes to my sleepwear.
Ultimately, this is the best eyemask I've found, after having gone through so many. As with everything, your mileage may vary. But for me, I'll always come back to this beautiful, comfy monster.

Truly the best sleep mask!

The first night using my mask I had the best nights sleep I've had in about a decade!! I have terrible insomnia and racing thoughts. Strangely, one thing that helps me sleep is listening to a familiar tv show or movie to distract my mind. Unfortunately, the light from the tv bothers me. I've tried other blindfolds that just let the light in or slip off my head in the night. I've often had to resort to pulling the covers over my head which can be sweaty and suffocating.
The SleepTight mask lets in absolutely no light whatsoever. You can still open your eyes under the mask, if that's something that concerns you. It is so soft and padded and has a comfortable, thick adjustable strap that you fit to your head once then just slide the mask on and off. No need to readjust. No discomfort, no slipping.
I'm a side sleeper and a back sleeper. The mask is so comfortable and doesn't cause any distress in either position.
The company offers friendly, thorough customer support as well. 5 stars to them as well!!
Cannot recommend more!!
Be aware that even though a lot of reviews and questions mention two masks, that was a short term promotion and unless you are ordering during a promotion again the "set" you receive includes one mask, one pair of ear plugs and a storage bag.
