Good grip on a shallow filter

Fits better than OEM. Comes with a long leash to attach to your strap so it won't get lost. I have a very shallow UV filter on the subject lens, which failed to hold the OEM cap well. I don't think that will be a problem with this replacement. It seems to have a better grip on the few threads available on my filter.

It broke after a couple of months of almost non-existent use. Just one day, half of it didn't spring back into place. I learned the hard way "“ so take it from my bad decision and buy the official Canon LC-77II if you're in the market for a replacement. My original cap lasted for years and years before it died as a dog chew toy.
Cheap cap, you get what you pay for.

This cap gets stuck sometimes, meaning I have an unreasonably hard time removing it from my lens. Other than that it's great.

No markings is a plus; does fit the various lenses I have but the mechanism and springs are squeaky and look like they might not withstand the test of actual wear.

Piece of rubbish; many of the reviews are obviously for another size, not the 77mm that I bought. Despite the description the springs do not hold this in tightly at all. It only needs to be touched gently to come off. I could neither put it into or take it out of my backpack without it coming off, and even if I replaced it once in, when I later went to take the camera out the cap was invariably off the lens. As the camera hangs by my leg, merely walking along would dislodge the cap. Don't buy it. I just received an genuine Canon cap, and it has stayed in place despite repeated test hits, swipes, rubs etc.
