Very good material to work with

Purchased this material to wrap the interior wood trim that faded in a Mercedes E-Class. I actually like the look of the 4D or 6D carbon fiber vinyl better, since it looks more like real carbon fiber, but ordered this 3D vinyl instead thinking it would be easier to install with all the tight corners and angles on some of the trim pieces. I've only used vinyl wrap once before, and found this material to be very good to work with. Easy to apply heat and stretch when needed, without overstretching. The adhesive is good too and allows for removing and reapplying if necessary, and with some heat so far looks to be sticking well in areas that could potentially lift up and off the trim piece. Attached are photos I took in my garage this evening. Sorry, the quality of the photos and lighting could be better. While nobody is going to mistake this for real carbon fiber, I think it looks nice, modern, and sporty, and especially looks good at night when there is a shine or shimmer depending on the lighting. Hopefully it continues to look good when it gets warm outside this summer. For now, I'm certainly pleased with this product.
That stuff is great. What else can I cover in this product now!?

I'm impressed. There's a lot of options out there, and I think I managed to strike gold on the first try - believe the other 5 star reviews here: it's good stuff. I covered the center console in my '05 Subaru Legacy - the bezel around the shifter, the door to the ashtray, and the radio/climate control face. The shift bezel and ashtray door were pretty easy; the radio console was a downright nuisance: odd compound curves, and 19 cutouts. To accomplish that panel, I taped the panel down, then taped a sheet of tracing paper over it, so I could trace out all the necessary cutouts. Then I made the cutouts on the trace paper, and taped it to the vinyl film, and made my cutout there. The key here is a new blade on your Xacto, and slow & steady as you go. This is the most reliable way to finish those complex pieces. When it comes to applying it, a hairdryer on low heat is your friend - added just enough pliability to the film to make wrapping the edges secure. I'm really pleased with how it came out, and this proved to be a high quality product which indubitably gave my first attempts at this their large margin for success. And that's just working with it; once it's installed - the texture, the look and feel of the product - it's extremely convincing. Even without having tried other products, I can confidently say I'll come back to this one again and again; it's that good.

The downside? Nothing is safe. I'm still working on my wife to let me pretty up the interior of her car. However, she has adamantly refused to let me cover the refrigerator, the stove, and/or the dishwasher in it though. Not even the coffee maker. Won't even budge. Maybe the TV remotes (I'll start small). My rechargeable battery. I wonder if she'd notice if I did the bezel around the TV ...

I think I'm going to need to order some more ...

Only issue I had was that the item came in undersized and ended up buying another section. Listen up guys, if item is not cut as described.....DO NOT CALL VViViD. I called them as the instruction said and I ended up paying more even with the so-called discount they gave me. Not to mention, the call is going to cost you cause your calling international....Canada.
Item works well and looks good for sure and I'm writing this months after I installed it.
Those that say the glue does not stick....Well don't knw what they are talking about. I had some scrap pieces fall on a dirty shop floor and months later they are still stuck to the floor in front of my tool box.
Patience and practice is the key to success

I wanted to do the dash trim in my CLA 250 in dry carbon. None of the wrap businesses in this area would take on a job this small, so I knew I'd have to do it myself. My first try, I threw up my hands in frustration, deciding it was impossible. But I started watching videos on YouTube on how to do vinyl wrapping and went at it again. After a couple of practice sessions, I started the job for real. It took about 90 minutes and lots of patient working with the vinyl--a kiss of heat here from the heat gun, a pull and stretch there, and on and on--but in the end: success.
Easy to work with

I had originally purchased some "china" vinyl from ebay for half the price of this and attempted to wrap my center console with it. After watching hours of youtube videos about vinyl wrapping technique I thought I was confident enough to do a good job. I worked for hours on 3 somewhat small pieces and the outcome was AWFUL! I wrapped and rewrapped the pieces so many times thinking I was doing things wrong.
So I went back to the drawing board and did more research on vinyl products by each manufacturer. I had considered buying Avery however Vvivid has excellent reviews and a lot of them said they were novice friendly. So I decided to go with this product.
After working with the "china" vinyl I can say that it is a night and day difference. Not only does it feel different but it stretches with and without heat differently. This was IMMENSELY easy to work with compared to the other stuff I used. The glue is 100x better as well.I would say it took me roughly 4 hours to do the 3 pieces since 1 of them is a complicated shape with WAY to many small circles in it.
I've showed my work to a number of people and they all think that it's a factory option so I must have done a good job.

I have no idea how well this product works for pieces that are exposed to weather however for interior pieces this is an awesome product.
