Was replacing the flush mechanism on an older 10" rough-in American Standard toilet, but the tank shattered in my hands. Needed a 1.6 GPF replacement ASAP, and this seller and product were just what I needed. Shipped very quickly and had the tank the day after ordering. No damage in shipping--special thanks to the UPS driver who gingerly placed it on my porch.
Tank comes with the flush mechanism pre-installed, so nothing to do but bolt the tank on, attach the water supply, and go! This does NOT include a new water supply line (between the valve on the wall and the tank), so you will probably want to buy one separately. Mounting bolts and gaskets are included.

Happy with product.

YES!...I REPLACED MY AMERICAN STANDARD COLONY TANK # 4392 WITH THIS AMERICAN STANDARD COLONY TANK # 4192
- Both tanks have 6 1/2" (inches) in distance, between the screw holds.
- Both tanks have a 2" (inches) flapper hole.
- Both tanks are 6.0 LPF / 1.6 GPF
- Both tanks are the same height and width.
...tank # 4192B is a 10" (inches) rough for depth.
...tank # 4192A is a 12" (inches) rough for depth.
This tank is made very well.
- strong & durable.
- quality material.
* I am doing this review because the manufacturer (American Standard), has started that there are no replacement tanks for Colony Tank # 4392.*
*The alleged plumbers, have also stated the same as American Standard*
The Only Reason I Can Think Of...That They (American Standard, Plumbers, Whoever They Are, Etc.) Are Saying That There Are No Replacement For Colony Tank 4392...Is Because They What To Get The Consumer To Purchase A New Toilet Set.

This Tank Makes a Mighty Flushing Toilet (If you buy the Bowl, too!)

Just got around to installing this item yesterday, so I don't have a lot of experience with it just yet. So far, very happy with it. I won't bore you with the reasons why, but I got the whole toilet by ordering the tank and bowl as separate items. If you need the bowl, too, it is listed as Model # 3251D101.020 The ".020" denotes that the color is White though it comes in three other shades with different suffixes. The same bowl (Round) is used for either a 10-inch or 12-inch Rough-In install. I tried to order the bowl through Amazon, but it came up as Out-of-Stock so ordered one from Home Depot. One of the questions that people were asking was whether there was an install kit included with either the tank or bowl. American Standard replied to one person saying the tank came only with the trip lever and there was no install kit. Not helpful since it's misleading. Here's what I found. The tank came assembled with the internal fill unit, flapper, and trip lever installed. Also, there was a bag with the tank gasket, rubber washers and screws and a connector to use (apparently) if you were making your own water line (which I wasn't). When I inspected the tank to make sure it arrived undamaged, I didn't initially see the bag (It's in the box!) so went and spent money to buy the gasket, etc. OK, so I have a spare. You won't need to buy the gasket but you DO have to buy the water line. The bowl comes only with the plastic cups to cover the mounting bolts. There will be a bag up inside the pedestal and taped there. Nice, but these are the type that will fall off every time you clean your toilet, so buy better ones. No toilet seat, wax ring, or mounting bolts are included. Make sure you buy the wax ring WITH mounting hardware included. Never rely on being able to re-use existing bolts and nuts! So, to sum up, you need the water line (measure the nut of your existing line at the valve end so you get the right size!), wax ring WITH mounting hardware, good bolt caps, and a nice Round toilet seat. Oh, and nearly forgot, someone had remarked that the tank wobbled back and forth badly after installing. It WILL until you get the mounting bolts tightened JUST enough to where the tank about comes in contact with two support ridges on the bowl. Careful not to over tighten, though. You're good when you can only get the tank to move back and forth almost imperceptibly. The worst part of this job is removing the old toilet and getting the old wax off the flange! Don't forget to include with your tools a paint scraper for removing the wax. You'll be pleased with the results of your labor. I suggest a cold beverage or two of your choice on completion.
