I'm using this thermometer for brewing beer, and it seems to be effective. I haven't attempted to verify its accuracy, but it would seem to be accurate based on correlation between my anticipated post-mash gravity reading and mash/ sparge prescribed temperature ranges. I ran it through the dishwasher as the packaging promised it was dishwasher safe, and it did not survive. The LCD readout is no longer readable. I would imagine I got a defective unit. Amazon replaced it free of charge, but I will not be putting the new unit in the dishwasher...

I have several small digital thermometers, this one is the nicest I have bought, has a nice laboratory vibe about it.

So far this thermometer has lasted a week and a half in my darkroom lab. It's easy to use and accurate. It claims to be waterproof and has held up. The true test of time will be if it can last a few months of regular use.
Brand sure is the best but I'm back to my old dial on top reading one

The media could not be loaded. got it for cheese making...
Was hoping the established quality brand means it is great for what I need
And for anyone with good eyes it probably is!!!!
BUT
my eyes are too old for this it turns out.
I warm milk for cheese and such and just need to read the temp and that is best from the top it turns out
(and I don't need reading glasses just yet, but this thing is TINY).
Back to the good old analog one that I can read from the top
Digital reading would just need to be larger for me so the good old dial works much better coz I can just check whereabout the temp on the dial is that I need to go to.
Plus this one reads from the side and my old one reads from the top. So much easier when handling liquids.
Would have returned it but I was so excited when it arrived I tossed the carton.
For anyone with good eyes it is probably about as good as it gets out there
