Works great and with the housing not being metal it works ...

I bought this to use on my saltwater tank water changes. Works great and with the housing not being metal it works great. I always rinse afterwards to insure that there isn't a problem with the salt drying inside it or anything.
Use for draining SPA

just go it and just used it to drain my spa (Jacuzzi J-365 which is ~400 gals). with the use of the pump it still took about and an 1.5 hr to drain the water using a 100 ft garden hose attached. this is ~15% to the advertised of 1,980 GPH. Urgghhh! i feel like i am being generous with 4 stars but so far not reliability issues etc.
Use 1" outlet

Worked out well. I used this to drain out my ~18,000 gallon pool after Hurricane Irma left me without power for over 10 days and turned it into a swamp. I debated renting at a local rental store, but they wanted more for a 24 hour rental than the cost of this, sorry not going to throw away my money.
At first I was a bit disappointed while I was using my garden hose, I was getting about 300 gallons per hour (tested with 5 gallon bucket and timer). But, then I had the idea of using some 1" PVC I had lying around and it jumped up to 1,800 gallons per hour. The attached picture shows the little rig job I did towards the end when I did not feel like going to the hardware store to buy more PVC.
My advice is to make sure to use the 1" outlet, not a garden hose if doing a big job. Also, if you want to save some money then just use PVC.
Works fine for my purposes

I need a sump pump for small chores, like the pool cover. The thing for which I use it most is to empty the dehumidifier. Since my basement has no floor drains and I can't carry a heavy bucket out the stairs I use a large 10 bucket to collect the water then use the pump and a hose to drain it outside. Works fine for that. Needed a new pump since the old one died.
Worked great for my application. Recommended!

Rigged up a 55 gal barrel watering/feeding mixing container for my garden and dropped this in the bottom of the barrel. Works perfect to pump the solution out. Have 25' 5/8 garden hose on it and the flow rate is perfect. I just use a watering wand with a shutoff valve on it. Since the pump is submerged, there's no worry of overheating while the flow is shut off.
