Completely fell in love. Believe me I did my research to see ...

Completely fell in love. Believe me I did my research to see if I could find another set at a cheaper price, but I couldn't find all the accessories these brought.
I was looking for a way to make my kitchen more cohesive and organized, these fit the bill just right.
They had the little plastic covering to pour my spices and just by adding my labels (this set brought its own labels but I created my own) they looked even more cute. Plus, this saved space in my kitchen cabinets, less clutter and now more visible and easier to access them quickly.

They look great and the shaker tops work well

I wanted to organize my messy and very visible spice racks so I ordered three sets of these spice jars. They look great and the shaker tops work well. The one possible negative is that some spices that were in larger jars from the store did not completely fit, but I like the size of these for my spice racks so I didn't mind.
I have them in the Ikea spice racks Ikea 400.701.85 Bekvam Spice Rack, Birch, Set of 4 and used these chalkboard labels on the sides Spice Labels for Jars - Round Labels for Jars - Fit Karmentstein Spice Jars and Labels for Use in Spice Racks - Blank To Customize. They did come with labels as well, pre-printed for many spices plus some blank ones for writing your own so I used those on the tops.

We were looking for a strong spice container that could be used when we visit and cook at friends homes when we travel. They needed to seal tight, be waterproof and of course durable so they would not break. We nearly always discard the shaker tops so they needed to seal when the shaker plastic portion is not on the container.
Another thing we look for is can a standard teaspoon measure fit in the top of the container and can the contents be dispensed accurately. The included labels were of little use to us since we cook quite a bit of ethnic food however, if you are cooking more American style, they may work for you. Just be aware the contrast is low and they may be hard to read.
In the pictures we show one of our favorite dishes palak paneer, a firm Indian homemade cheese with spinach in a tomato cream gravy. This uses 4 main spices shown in the bottles on top of the griddle built into the stove we were using. No worries on the nearby heat since the glass is heavy on the containers and the metal top heavy and strong. The cumin seeds always spatter when opening as they are added to the oil, no worries as the glass cap and labels we used clean up with a damp cloth.
The labels we used are available here on Amazon the tops fit right on the metal lid perfectly, the side labels provide quite a bit of room but have curved edges adding to the look of the container. Ziggyboard Chalkboard Spice Jar Labels Fit Deco Brothers Glass Jars and Other Style or Brand Jars and Include 18 Round Labels, 18 Rounded Rectangle Labels and Fine White Chalk Marker Be sure you use waterproof markers that come with the labels or buy a waterproof one to go with them. This way the chalk marker writing will not come off when cleaned with soap and water. If needed spray kitchen cleaner will remove the waterproof marker.
But back to the container. Using Mustard Seed we measured 17 teaspoons of capacity in the container. Using water we found that it held 3 liquid ounces or 100 ml. With the top on as tight as we could, it was waterproof, when placed underwater for an hour, we had no leaks. This was with or without the internal shaker top. The advantage being of course, keeping your spices fresh.
More container details, I don't know why the confusion on the tops, unless the manufacture has changed them without noting the change. The tops are a bright brushed stamped metal not plastic as some answering questions have noted. It is also magnetic so it is made out of steel, not aluminum as some have indicated. The inside has a coated lining that I expect leads to the good seal we observed. Measured with a ruler we get an overall diameter of 1 11/16 inches. With the top on the container is 3 13/16 tall. The inside dimension of the glass is 1 3/16 inches in diameter. The lid alone is 1 5/8 diameter and 9/16 inches tall, screw threads on the bottom, knurled on the top edge.
Overall an A- would be our rating, the only downside, made in China. At least the manufacture clearly notes that on the packaging.

Great for customizing!

Very nice set! I used these to customize my spice rack for a clean, consistent look since it's visible in my kitchen. Thinking about ordering more as house-warming and/or Christmas gifts.
and actually quite sturdy. As some reviews have noted

These are decent glass jars. The lids are aluminum, not plastic, and actually quite sturdy. As some reviews have noted, the shaker tops have rather small holes, fine for powders, but they also have a larger flap that opens up for pouring larger herbs and spices. You can also, of course, leave the shaker tops off. They look pretty classy, but aren't too pricy.
