It is very much a cream, so it applies smoothly and evenly. I use it on true shell cordovan. It restores surface finish, smoothness.and color. I have just begun using this product. So far although it is a cream and it does penetrate, and given time it does help make the cordovan supple, it hasn't made it "squishy" or caused it to swell which is important in what I'm making. (Archery shooting finger tabs) Given how it is performing I do believe that it truly is formulated to go with the special tanning process that is used to make true cordovan. Don't know yet what happens with improving water resistance or in recovering cordovan that has been water soaked. That will be its next test.

I have found the boot paste takes a small amount to create the luster shine you might require. It helps if you prepare the leather first on a clean surface. Apply mink oil with a cloth and let this dry then buff. Apply the sapphire cream sparely, a little dab will do you, with a cloth and rub it in with circular motions. Allow the cream to dry then bunk with a cloth. The shine usually is mirror like.
