The light itself is OK. Colors are bright and it has a decent throw distance. Even the chromatic aberration isn't too bad (multi-color shadow effect you usually see with multi-LED lights). I suppose the built-in programs are OK as party lights, so that's why I'm giving this three stars instead of two. The biggest detractor for this light is the DMX reaction speed. It responds VERY slowly to DMX signals. In fact, for a controlled ramp from 0-100% over 3 seconds, the light did not respond to the signal until it had stabilized after the 3-second ramp was finished. This light CANNOT work for sequenced DMX lighting rigs where timing is critical. If you just need a cheap LED light to throw solid color on something, this could be an OK light. If you need something that can deal with smooth fades and timed lighting sequences, this is not the light for you.

Very bright, good colors. The channels go: master dimmer, red, green, blue so be aware if you are planning to use these with other lights or a controller that use DMX Channels 1,2,3 for RGB. I am very happy with these lights, I used 4 of them on a light bar tripod for DJing a wedding in a large shop and it was plenty of light. They have sections of plastic cut out on the back and fans for removing heat, this makes them sort of noisy and vulnerable to moisture and dust. On my light bar with music playing, no one could hear the fans but if you are using them for uplighting an event that is not loud and people are able to go near the lights, they will probably hear these. Works great with a Chauvet Obey40 or similar style DMX controller because these lights work on up to 8 channels and those controllers have 8 faders.

They are cheap, and my first "DJ" lights, so take this for what its worth.

They are good and bright, 5 stars for that. At full brightness, there are no visual artifacts in the video, even under stressful video conditions (60fps, 30 degree shutter (or 1/720th second)). If you dim the light to 64 (~1/4 brightness), keeping 60fps/30deg, then you will see micro banding in the footage. (Hint, don't dim the light if you plan on filming action with a fast shutter! The PWM dimming in the light is not fast enough.)

In more 'normal' conditions, such as 24fps, 180degree shutter (~1/48 second), I don't see any banding, flicker or anything else negative. So, I imagine that there will be no problems using these lights for weddings, concerts, etc., where a videographer is present.

The lights do get -1 star for the mixing of the Red channel. The Red is a narrower beam than the other colors, so you will experience color fringing on any mix that has Red in it.

TL/DR: As long as your shutter speed is slower, these work great as special effects video lighting!

I will give 10 stars.... This light is amazing almost unbelievable for the price. I now own 4 of these and have no regrets what's or ever. I previously purchased the ADJ Tri Par profile at $100.00 a piece. I paid $49.98 for these and am much more satisfied with these then the ADJ. They are much brighter and have a wider angle. I have read previous reviews where customers say the fan is a bit too loud. I totally disagree with them. Maybe the units they received are a "bit loud" but I must say, I was actually looking for a sound when I had mines plugged in. I use to believe in the term "you get what you paid for" until I purchased these. I have done 4 weddings with these and have yet to have any issues with them. Bye bye ADJ & Chauvet. Your over priced products are no longer a buying option for me. A big thanks to Worldtrend and Amazon. I promise to keep purchasing from you. If anyone is thinking in buying these, don't think about it twice. I promise you will be satisfied. I will be updating my reviews with pics soon.

I have bought many lights before, however, these are were the money should be invested. I have use them mostly as uplights. Wow! Can they shine bright. The change of colors, or stills as you may want to set the mood. I cannot complaint one bit about these lights. Stop looking for any other lights, get a couple of these and it will have you looking like a professional.
