We recently cut out peanut butter (boo hooo) but this has been a great alternative. My kids love it as well as my husband. It is hard to find a sunbutter without sweeI have been an Amazon prime customer for a year now. I really enjoy writing reviews. That is why I feel unbiased reviews give us all the chance for a better buying experience... which means less returns... less hassles!!

I love peanut butter, but trying to go the natural ones with one ingredient. I love this one on toast with honey!
Peanut Allergy Solution (but check with your doc first)

I came down with a nut allergy a few years back. My wife and children have continued to use peanuts and peanut butter, which is fine. We're just careful to clean utensils and plates after use and haven't had any issues.
I discovered (last month) that I could make my own sunflower seed butter and should be safe from my nut allergy. I can't speak for everyone, of course, but my tests showed that I'm not allergic to sunflower seeds. So I used my Vitamix and made a batch of sunflower seed butter. It's not a long process, but it's incredibly messy and the cleanup of the blender can be rough. Oils from the seeds simply coat everything.
For convenience sake, I tried SunButter's spread. And it's every bit as good as my homemade batch. I made sunflower seed butter (SSB) chocolate treats (I used arrowroot powder as a thickener) and I've had pancakes splattered in SSB. The smell is similar and although it isn't a perfect peanut taste, it is so close that I don't mind at all. And I'm hooked. I've had more SSB than I've ever had of peanut butter. I love it.
SunButter has done a terrific job in their blend. There isn't much standing oil in the container when compared to peanut butter, but it seems slightly runnier. The taste is smooth and creamy. I recommend it to others who've discovered that they're not allergic to sunflower seeds but are allergic to peanuts or tree nuts. I seriously can't believe I'd never heard of this substitute before last month.

I love sunflower seeds

I love sunflower seeds. I love sunflower seed butter. I love this particular jar because there's no added sugar. In fact, the only ingredients are roasted sunflower seeds and salt. I have to buy this from Amazon because I live in a rural area, and the grocery stores carry only the sugar added version.
There are some negative reviews for this product. What did they think they were getting? SunButter makes sunflower butter with cane sugar and an organic version, also with cane sugar. If they want something like Skippy's or Jif's, maybe they should buy the sugar added version.
