Size is a little too small for my purpose, but that's my own fault for not measuring. However, this mat is not as thick, nor does it absorb as much water as two other mats (different brand) that I have. If you're using this as an actual mat for wet dishes, glasses, etc., or, using it under your dish drainer, you may want to use two - one on top of the other.

Stinky.......right out of the box, this dish mat smells like old wet leather shoes. The label says it's "100% Polyester", which if it were true, it would have no odor at all. The instructions say to launder before use. I did this, and it still smells. -It's made in China, so perhaps their Polyester is made differently. I didn't return the mat, because it appears to be of good quality, otherwise. Instead, I'll use it to put on my mother-in-law's chair to catch the smells, I mean spills, whatever.....

I'm not using this as a dish drainer. I have one of those things for drying baggies, a tree-like thing will all the arms on it. But I was afraid I was going to cause damage on the narrow shelf (counter) in front of my sink that goes all the way across. I cut this in half and put one piece on that shelf where the baggie tree stands, and then I placed the other piece on the counter directly below it where the bags also drain. It looks nice and it's working so well.
I think this would be a very good dish drainer.
