Great product. A lifesaver

This is the best investment I made for my 50 gallon fresh water tank. Setting it up was easy although the instructions were not the best but YouTube helped me out a lot. It works great keeping my tank clean. I no longer need to constantly clean my fish tank. Just regular water changes and that's it. Highly recommend this to anyone.
Great filter so far

This filter helps keep my 75 gallon turtle tank clear. It's quiet and easy to set up. It have poor instructions on setting up the trays. I use a course, medium, and fine foam filter in the bottom tray. The top two trays have been filled with the pumice type of biological media rocks. This makes for an easy to maintain filter set up
Great product for the money! Skimpy on the plastics!

Excellent product. Only improvements would be the plastics for the in and out. The skimmer is a joke and breaks the product by not sealing!
If you fill this unit halfway up, and set just the U tube into the tank completely submersed, priming is easy! This unit barely works with the skimmer rod which is built into the U return rod. I had to use a rubber O ring to seal one, then my 304b I used a half inch hose instead.
Be prepared to mess with the plastics ,that is if you get them all!

Great value for the money, if you know what to expect.

For the price, great value... I added a sheet of fine filter media and some extra bio filter media, just to augment its filtration capacity... also read ALL the reviews I could, the most common complaint is that the oring up top leaks... greased it well with silicone grease, not a drop. Works great, silent, almost a month later not a drip, and the uv light is still working. no problems.
Does the job if you can get through the directions

I have a 26 gallon bow tank with a Fluval 50 on it, near 2 windows as it's the only place I have for it near outlets, which is no bueno for an aquarium. I normally would just use algaecide when it turned green but I have a pleco now and I have been told that algaecide can kill them. So the last time it went pea green a couple of weeks ago, I did a few water changes and changed out the carbon but it was not much help and I was clueless as to what to do besides keeping the light off and trying to keep that area in the room dark, which didn't help much either. An extremely knowledgeable friend told me to get this filter so I did. Others may say it's overkill but with the window situation, I didn't think so and it turns out I was correct. The instructions are absolutely useless except for using in the bottom of a bird cage so he helped me with the set up. It's been running 4 days, in conjunction with the Fluval, and everyday I can see it's getting clearer whereas previously it was only getting worse. It will most likely be 100% clear tomorrow. Once set up, it looks very easy to change the filter pads, and it is very quiet. When it's clear I'll take out the Fluval but right now, it's doing exactly what I needed it to do. I would recommend this filter to anyone who is having the same issue as I have.
