Not really sharp enough to cut through pizza well.

I got this for my hubby because we do a lot of pizza at home with fresh made dough...it seemed like a step up from the usual pizza wheel. But sadly, this cutter does not have a very sharp blade. We found that we had to press down so hard...it "crushed" the pizza more than it sliced it. Had it too long to consider returning it. So, we are back to using the pizza wheel and I will probably end up donating this.
Excellent pizza chopper

I used my beech-wood handle pizza cutter yesterday to cut 14 pizzas and 2 calzones that I baked on my wood-fired grill. The cutter performed spectacularly. The handle is not made of pressed sawdust--it is solid wood.
I bought this because my wife was having difficulty using our wheel style cutter. I too was finding the wheel to be a clumsy tool. This cutter is so much easier to use than the wheel.
For just $4.99, this thing is fantastic!

We make a lot of pizza in this household. I like to make it on the grill or in a new pizza maker I received as a gift. I am used to using a pizza wheel but when it gets dirty, it's hard to clean if I don't put it in the dishwasher.
I always wanted one if these. It is a generous size. I have used it a few times and there really is a learning curve to it. You have to rock and back quickly to get it to cut. I think I have it down better than the first time I have used it.
Only con would be it takes up a lot of storage space. I have not had it long but for the price, I am happy with it.

Overpriced, Poor Quality

I haven't had much success with the wheel type pizza cutters; they always fall apart or get very dull, so thought I'd give this a try. I've had it about nine months and after a good amount of use, I cannot recommend this. It doesn't come with any type of blade guard, so it's difficult to store safely. Yes, it has a hole for hanging, but I don't have a place in my kitchen to hang the cutter. I find it awkward to cut pizza in a pan with this, because the slightly raised sides of the pan stop the blade from cutting the edges of the pizza. It also isn't that sharp. Despite only hand washing the blade, the finish on the wood is peeling off; not very good quality. I do not recommend this, even though it is now selling at half the price I paid.
I wish it were actually "sharp."

Oh my pizza cutter, how many ways do I love you?
Well, other than the fact that it is like cutting french bread with a dull knife I think this is the best pizza cutter--ever!! :-)
The rocker motion created by the bevel on each end of the blade really helps establishing your starting point and leaning into the cut. It took me about five pies to get this down and even now I am needing to perfect my skill with this. Totally kicks ass over ANY rolling "wheel cutter" ever created, and I should see about getting it sharpened. This will cut a 13" pizza nicely, but any larger than that and you have to get creative with your cuts, as it will end up short. I like the feel of the wood (real wood by the way), but I am not sure what kind it is. Medium density wood essentially, dark stained. This thing is super easy to wash with a scrubby sponge, and the hole is great for hanging it on the wall. I have made about 8 pizzas since I got this and it beats using a large kitchen knife, especially when you are cutting narrow slices (12-16 slices per pie) -- even though I wish it were sharper. In any case it was worth every penny. I think you will like it as well.
