Best tree stand for the money

I'm a bow hunter who prefers the larger platform on the hawk helium XL. My first stand was a lone wolf alpha II and I love it but is expensive when buying multiple stands. This stand is nearly identical but costs $100 less! Very light, super comfortable seat cushion, adjustable seat and large platform. The hawk only attaches with one strap where the lone wolf has two but not a big deal to add a ratchet strap. Also the lower platform on the lone wolf is adjustable but if you choose a straight tree it's a non-issue. The Hawk XL platform is a little wider too. I love this so much I just ordered another!
Worth buying, will need some mods to be the best it can be.

Pros: the platform is huge. The seat is very comfortable. Those two things alone make it worth buying. Oh, and it's super light, as advertised. However, I have to mention some cons as well: 1.) The upper grip-teeth pull away from the tree when you step onto the platform. That's never caused me to be unstable, but after this season, I'll be switching to a ratchet strap, rather than the pull-tight belt that comes with it. 2.) The shoulder straps are terrible. They're strong and simple webbing, but they're slippery and don't stay on the shoulder very well. I'll be switching those out for some traditional backpack straps. 3.) The aluminum post scuffs the platform when it's in the down position for carrying. It's no big deal, but I don't like that. I've used some 550 cord to wrap parts of the platform mesh so that the impact is padded and to decrease the scuffing and scraping.

I really love the stand. Ton of foot room for big boots in the cold winter, seat is orally adjustable, and I think the best part is the secondary tree strap hanger they created for it. You can order a couple of the tree hangers , put them in different trees if you want and makes it's absolutely simple to hang on and off. Very very sturdy and definitely roomy for the heavier clothes and boots as well. U can also buy a backpack hanger for it so you can carry it in and out of the woods like a backpack. Very very cool!

Very light, very comfortable. All the welds look good, the powdercoat was nice. It does make noise as it settles into the tree, but it's fixed easily enough by switching the cam buckle strap that comes with it with a ratchet strap and using a second ratchet strap at the bottom of the stand to cinch it in.

I like the stand but a few points where improvement would be nice. One pony is that it isn't silent while carrying it. I added 550 cord to the parts where metal has contact. Also it would be great if it came with a Cruzr mount. Other than that it's pretty easy to set up and take down but make sure you use the harness properly.
