They are a bit tight at the top, but the fabric is nice and stretchy. I'm 5'3" and can pull them over my knees. The ivory shade is just as pictured.

Just to note, the "lace" at the top does NOT stretch, so if you are a bigger girl or have larger calves, it'll be a squeeze getting these up. Once you get them under the knee they are ok, but you may want to pull the stitches and give yourself a little more room.

I wear 8 1/2, and these fit with room to spare. They have a reasonable amount of stretch. I have actual calves (neither cankles nor bird legs) and the top band made it over my calves. So far, it's not too tight, and I think will keep the stockings up where they belong, just under my knees, and not puddling around my ankles. I am 5'6", and 170 lbs. I plan to wash them with care.

I have three pairs of these in gray, brown, and black. I've had the gray and black a while (like years) - they last and last and last - super high quality, and I am constantly getting compliments. I wash them in the washing machine pretty gentle wash and I don't dry them in the dryer - I think this helps the lace edge last longer. Well, it helps all the sock last longer probably. You can't go wrong with these. Sexy and cute and quirky and well worth the price. Oh, and they fit well! I'm a solid Medium size woman and often have the experience with the made in China items that are just way way too small - these are AWEsome, they come all the way up lower mid-thigh if I want them to - and I am 5'8".
