If you are thinking about buying this lederhosen , don't think about it any longer, do it ! I promise you will not be disappointed. This is the real deal and i would have paid a fortune back home in Germany for this. Now my husband does normally wears a size 44 but i ordered 2 sizes larger , so a 48 and it fits perfect ! It has a little bit of room, but better loose then to tight. The only bummer was that one of the buttons that hold the suspenders in the back is broke in half, but it comes with an extra button, now i just have to figure out how to get it on .

I bought these to attend Oktoberfest 2017 and they were fantastic. After a couple of wears the suede broke in and they felt very comfortable. They look fantastic as well - I had multiple other tourists say I looked like an authentic Bavarian!
I read the other reviews to size up, so I ordered a US 36 though I normally wear a 33/34. My pair ran more true to size, as the 36 was definitely a bit big on me, but not obnoxiously so. I didn't mind as it left me room to expand for the beer! My friend ordered the longer pair which covers the knee, and I think some of the size complaints come from the tightness on the legs rather than the waist. Also note that there is a piece in the back with a cord that ties the waist together, allowing you to loosen it for more room.

Great leather/suede material, construction and price. The size around the waist is pretty accurate. However, I could barely fit my thighs into the shorts. My legs are more muscular than most people so I won't blame the manufacturer for it's European sizing. I ended up going up 2 sizes (technically 4 inches) so that when sitting down, my boys weren't crushed and I didn't expose a plumbers crack! I was not going to take a risk and hope they will stretch that much. I like that there is an inner polyester lining so my skin won't chafe against the back side of the stitching. Overall I am still satisfied with the 2+ larger size. Yes, the waist is looser now, but it will give me more room for beer and this year's 10 liter challenge! My legs fit snug however there are buttons along the bottom to loosen in case they feel too tight!
Great quality! Order at least 3-4 sizes up for loose and comfortable fit!

Received these today and I am super happy with the quality. THESE DEFINITELY RUN SMALL! I usually wear a 30-32 men's jeans. I had to ordered a 49 (34 men's US) and they fit perfect. By perfect I mean a little loose, which is great since I tend to do a bit of walking in warm TX weather.

The quality is much better than I expected. I'm legitimately excited to wear this for Oktoberfest in Munich!
As others have said before, measure your waist at your hips (belly button) and go up one size. I had no problems putting this on and I'm a big guy with large legs. I do wish the straps were a bit thicker, but I have no doubt they'll last based on the quality of the item.
