This worked well for me, for the purpose, hanging a chandelier. However --- when mounting this into a ceiling, the provided screw is just too short for comfort when you need to go through standard dry-wall, it bites less than 1/2 inch into the ceiling joist. I bought a longer screw at the hardware store (3"), and used a Dremel tool to shape the screw head to replace the provided one. For the manufacturer --- the provided screw is too short for wall or ceiling mount through dry-wall (usually 1/2 or 5/8). It needs to be at least 1" longer. That's why I gave it (4) stars, instead of (5).

The closing mechanism is not as precise as I would have liked, it took some finagling to get it to latch correctly onto the post screw, but after some wiggling, it closed. So far it's holing up perfectly and it looks good. Using it to hold up a light kitchen pendant light.
