I absolutely love this little gadget! I had a couple of the regular sized GarlicZooms for a while now and loved their usefulness, so I decided to get the XL. I will never look back! Seriously, get the XL. The smaller ones can only handle a few cloves of garlic at a time and even then can have a little trouble starting off. I tried 4 cloves with the XL and it could've handled twice that easily. It chopped them up so fast with no problems.

I know there's a lot of "I can chop my own garlic" folks out there and that's fine. I love garlic, but loathe chopping it. I hate the way you can't get rid of the smell from your hands. So this little gadget works wonders!

This is a piece of junk. The lid fell off (the hinge posed loose) the first time I opened it and I can't get it to stay on. My recommendation to you - find another manufacturer for this, you'll be happier (I have used other ones made by other manufacturers and they are much better quality).

Does it really chop with ease? Yes absolutely. It's easy to use and fast. Why did I give it a 3? It's annoying to get the garlic out. The garlic once chopped is all stuck inside, so you have to carefully stick your fingers in there (trying to not get cut by the blades) to get all the garlic out. If not you end up using twice as much garlic to get the amount you need. Also the cap easily broke off

I like this device a lot, and it definitely makes cooking with lots of garlic more enjoyable. My only complaint is that I wish it was easier to extract the chopped garlic from it. I usually have to smack the garlic to the top of the lid, wipe the lid, repeat, then open the whole device, take out the blade, then try to scoop out the rest from all the crevices... It's a little annoying, but still faster and easier than chopping all that garlic up individually. I can usually put 3-4 cloves in at once. Cleaning is easy, just a quick rinse and let air dry. Overall, I do like the product and I'm glad I have it, but I feel like improvements could be made.

Love! Love! Love the GarlicZoom! Mincing garlic has never been easy or fun. It makes mince work out of garlic, onion, chilies and herbs. I'm not sure what i love most about this little gadget.Not smelling stinky garlic fingers all night? No burning fingers or eyes from chopping a super hot chile? Or mincing fresh herbs in a blink of an eye. Anything i can throw in the GarlicZoom I zoom. It's fun! I have a problem wrist from an injury & an arm and hand that suffers from nerve damage. I can still manage to zoom this. When people ask if the can help in the kitchen this is the chore that i give them and everyone loves it. They think it's the neatest little thing. I purchased the larger of the two and while its perfect for its intended purpose, garlic, i wish that i had a larger version for onions, chiles, and herbs when more than just a tiny amount is needed. This is excellent for mincing fresh or dried herbs very finely, like you would buy at the market. Just make sure your fresh herbs are bone dry before using and pack them in as tight as you can. I have other larger choppers, but this little guy does a great job in keeping things uniform unlike most choppers, plus none of the rest can come close to the fine mince of this. With practice you can vary from a fine mince to a small dice. Did i mention how nice it is not to have burning or smelly garlic fingers? Short on space? You won't be sorry to give up room for a little guy. I'd definitely recommend.

FYI: The knife is still king for overall convenience PROVIDED that your knife skills are up to par. This little zoom zoom is more fun than a knife and is great for people with dexterity problems or with just so-so knife skills. If you have some skills then you probably will be disappointed. For those complaining about waste.. I've found no more waste than using a standard garlic press, which I can no longer use (medical issues). Hope this helps avoid disappointment.
