Okay, the description says that it is made of cast resin, but it looks and feels like cast iron. It's weighty, solid, and AWESOME looking!!!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for Christmas. He has it on the door to his 'mancave' and absolutely loves it. It's fantastic. It's a great size, not too huge to be overbearing, but not so small to seem dainty either. It's good and heavy so don't worry that it will break - it definitely will not. In fact, if your door is hollow, you might want to be especially careful using this as an actual door knocker. I highly recommend this for the wicked wolf lover in your life.

Absolutely stunning and has amazing weight to it, like it's made from cast iron or something. We gave this as a gift to a friend who loves wolves, and it went over really well. Consider getting a knocker plate to protect your door though, the ring has some real weight to it.
Works great as a towel holder

Looks pretty sweet as a door knocker but even more awesome as a towel holder. Fair warning, the welds to the bead in the middle of the knocker ring were pretty sloppy on mine, so there were a few splatters of metal on the ring which would normally be cleaned up, but instead they were painted over. Nothing sharp, but definitely noticeable to the naked eye or a bare hand.

Love my little Wolfy, she/he holds a Burgundy hand towel in my bathroom thanks to the awesome advice of another reviewer. In honor of my mothers German Shepherd that passed away and was a great friend, my wolf symbolize protection and loyalty, a wolven gargoyle. *Smiles*
