Surprising Accurate and Easy

The review would be four stars were it not for their outstanding customer service. I was contacted by them when my unit first arrived offering any assistance that I might need to make it easier. If you go to their web site, there are videos showing step by step instructions. I'm technology challenged, and even I had no trouble with the set up using their video instruction. When actually using the pedometer, I had problems with its accuracy. The support was outstanding offering any assistance needed to make things right. I had clipped it to my pants pocket while walking and it gave inconsistent steps and distance. It turns out that my baggy pants (cargo) would move it around way to much causing it to misread the steps. I clipped it to my waist band as instructed and found that it matched my steps and distance accurately. The final outcome differs a bit, but its so close it doesn't really make a difference. If you are looking for steps and distance and don't want to pay the $150 plus for the wrist ones, you can't go wrong. Also, you can reset it at anytime if you are going from place to place and want to check each distance. I had a wrist one, and they do not allow you to reset the unit. It does it only once daily . You are really limited with those. And who cares about the sleep reports on those. Do you really need something to tell you how many times you tossed and turned? This is a great unit for the price and you will never find better customer service anywhere.
Accurate, well made, and a great value.

I have been using fitness trackers since 2012. I have had 2 1/2 trackers before the 3DTriSport. The first two were the same: Fit***, the first model out. I lost the first and then the second. The clip holder did not hold the device securely, or the two that I had, did not, and failed. They were accurate. The second was a Yam** E510 which just stopped working two weeks ago. It did not have a holder, and came with a very short lanyard, which I could not figure out its use. I did not have any problems programming either of these.
I purchased the 3DTriSport based upon reviews, discounting those which had a programming problem. Right after I ordered I received an email from a customer support rep, giving me instructions, a training video and a telephone number to call if I had problems.
The item arrived and the blister pack opened easily.
Included was a clip holder and a two part lanyard, and instructions (I must have three sets right now.
Programming was easy. The only mistake I made was in pulling out the plastic battery protector which started the clock. Thus was easy to correct.
The clip holder seems robust and I have clipped it to my t-shirt collar, sock, pocket while exercising at my gym and it stayed put. I have placed the small part of the lanyard on the tracker and sometimes connect it to the longer portion and wear it around my neck while on a treadmill. That way it is easier to compare the distances on each.
Now, the most important part: accuracy.
I have tracked distance on a treadmill and the 3DTriSport about 7 times. It has never deviated by more than 0.02 miles. This is accurate enough for my needs. I have also tracked distance from my house to my gym and compared to Google Maps to the TriSport and again, never more than 0.02 miles difference.
I also found that it tracks walking on stairs as well.
This in accurate, well made, and quite a value for its price.

Once you know how to properly set your stride, this pedometer is accurate to within 3% according to every test I've done so far. It was so good I bought a second one for my 75-year old mom too.
Don't measure your stride with a ruler. I measured mines at 26 inches (I'm 5'6 135 lbs.) and using a value of 26 inches, the pedometer recorded too many steps (120 instead of 100). So I went back outside, bumped it up to 28, and took 100 steps; 110 was the result. Changed it to 30, voila! 100 steps. Every time I have tested 100 steps, it is always between 97-103.
Now for recording distance, I walk around my local park track that is 1.5 miles long. This pedometer records 1.47 miles, so awesome, very happy with it so far and praying it doesn't break down.
The clip is pretty secure when clipped to my belt, but I prefer to clip it to my front left belt loop where it fully clips. To remove clip, you have to push the pedometer upwards so I don't worry about the pedometer slippping off when I walk or jog.
I've only had this for only a week, and so far it has definitely been a 5 star device... not to say I've not owned other great things that broke down shortly after you buy them *knock on wood*.

I bought this after reading the reviews for it. What I like the most is that I clip it to my shoe and forget about having it on. Keeps an accurate count of your steps. If you have any trouble setting it up they have a video to watch.
It's Working! YAY!

The pedometer came in a blister pack that was nearly impossible to cut--of course. Even though I cut as close to the top as possible, had the direction leaflet slipped in any way, I would have had a problem. I like the fact the battery was already installed, but with a strip of clear plastic slid in to keep it from draining.
When the directions say that the device will go out of set mode if you don't give it a command in ten seconds--they are NOT kidding. Until I had my other half read off the commands as fast as possible to get it set up, it did that repeatedly. Even so, I did get it fully set up in about 15 minutes. These two issues are the ONLY reason I find so far to rate this item a 4 rather than a 5, to be honest. Now if that changes over time, I will update my review, but as it stands, if the directions were more clearly presented and the interval allowed to enter a command were even a second or two longer--and it was packaged in a package I could open without utility shears or explosives-- it would have a 5 at this point. The other issue is in setting the "length of stride". It would have been nice if they gave instructions on how this is measured for those of us who have never cared enough to figure it out LOL.
Once I had it set up, I tested it in a quick walk around the back yard clipped to the pocket of my polo shirt--and it worked fine. I then clipped it to the elastic waistline of my leggings for a trip to the Walmart vision store and to get groceries, and a trip to a few other local stores. I deliberately put it on the same side as my purse, since my purse bumps my hip while I walk.
In both cases, the pedometer performed as advertised, with no issues of slipping or any discrepancies I can find readily. The clip was more than adequate to hold it snugly on my sweat pants waistband, and also on my polo shirt pocket, when I initially put it on at home. Even though my purse repeatedly bumps against my hip, it doesn't seem to have affected the performance of the pedometer.
On the second part of the trip I clipped it to my other hip for one store, and wore it on the lanyard at the last store we went to, and it still recorded accurately so far as I can tell.
I will be keeping careful track of my figures and checking them as best I can, but I believe the first trial of the pedometer was an unqualified success. I also received an email from the company directing me to extra materials that are proving useful. If the product continues to perform as well as it did the first few hours and trips, I will be a very happy camper!
