Good, but leaves residue on marble tile edges

I used these pads for the edges of marble tile for my counter top. The grittier pads (50 100 400) worked well however the fine grit pads ( 800 and up) gummed up and left black residue on the tile and pads. I had to repeatedly stop and use wd-40 to clean the pads and marble from the black residue. I'm not sure if this is caused by a high rpm grinder or the fact that I was working on an edge as opposed to a flat surface. But, the sheen on the edge of the tiles now match the factory surface, so I'm happy with the final product but the pads need to be thrown out.
You may want the extra pads.

When I remodeled my bathroom using marble, I used a diamond router bit to round over the trim piece I cut, and then these pads to sand/polish the rough edges. This saved me a lot of money compared to purchasing marble trim. Plus I was able to custom size the molding so it would not interfere with light switches, door trim, etc. I worked with heavy rubber gloves and boots, because I sprayed water on the pads with a simple pump up garden type sprayer, and I wanted protection from electrical shock. Having extra pads really helped because the 50 and 100 grit pads tended to wear through prolonged use. This kit is way better than the comparable kit without extra pads.
Value and quality simply cannot be beat.

Quite possibly the best stone polishing pads (or medium) I've ever used... especially for the price. They are effective and durable. I'd like to order another set/be a repeat customer, but from my experience so far it is unlikely I will need to re-order anytime soon! I added a picture of a Turritella fossil cube I am working on for your reference. Thanks for the awesome product!
Makes easy work even for a beginner.

Make sure you use a low rpm angle grinder or polisher. With too high speeds these will overheat and burn the edge of the granite. Used properly the do an amazing job, and they do quickly. I am a first time granite polisher and polished the edges of probably 40 feet of granite tile. It took a little time because i had so much to do, but was actually pretty quick. It turned out beautiful and was relatively easy to do. My edge polish looks identical to the surface polish that came on the tiles. Beautiful.

Good quality. The 50 grit pads do wear a bit fast, but that's to be expected since it's a very coarse pad. I start these pads dry, but noticed that they do burn after 400 grit, so I use them wet from 400 on. After a bit of practice, I was able to make close to factory edges with these. I wish it included the 30 grit as well, but this set definitely does the trick.
