I have two of these - one for my 8 year old daughter who has run I think three 5ks, and also has some age group medals (in the super competitive female 1-8 category) so she has around 6 medals overall and one for my 5 year old son who walked his first 5k and on the drive home asked why he didn't have a medal display like his sister. Whoops, a really good dad would have ordered that already.
The one foot wide one is perfect - a big one would look kind of bare, and eventually I'd rather they just displayed their favorites rather than everything they've ever gotten, but if you already have a ton of cool medals and have the space obviously you would want to go larger.
Easy to install, looks good, well built. I like the message on this one in particular. The edges are a little sharp, however they're cut they don't then smooth them back out, so just be a little careful installing it. It's not like I got cut or anything, but it's not a play toy, you know?
