These are THE BEST! Great entertainment at the campfire. I've purchased these a few times now and the kids (and adults) sure get a kick out of it! They last a long time, the key is to put them on AFTER you've stocked the fire with wood. Once you mix it up with these packets, they no longer work.

I bought this to use at my boyfriend's house in the chiminea. We were adequately entertained for the night. The colors really are pretty while they are burning and last for a decent amount of time. I would say that properly supervised children would be mesmerized by this - I loved the bright neon colors, and I'm in my 30s. I just made sure to sit out of the direction the smoke was blowing because I don't want to breathe in any of that. Don't roast your marshmallows over this either, roast them first, THEN put the mystical fire in.

Our family loves these. We have bought them many times and just keep buying more. We do a lot of camping and these are a hit EVERY TIME when we are with someone new. Throw one on the fire and within a few seconds, the flames magically turn colors. The kids especially get into it. You must remember that because it is metal that is causing the color change, it is not safe to use these packets in a fire where you will be cooking food or making smores; only for entertainment fires. We bought some of these in the Fall when we built a big backyard firepit and most weekends, we would get the neighbors together and drink some beers. Everybody begs us to bring the Mystical Fire pouches. They are good quality, inexpensive fun. Each pouch usually lasts at least 30-45 minutes.

Bought these on a whim and they are really just a lot of fun. My daughter is obsessed with them. Just a couple things...I was thinking this would be a lightshow of fire, its not. While it is very cool, it just burns blue or green. The package shows the full rainbow, but it isn't like that (or at least not that we saw). Also, you are supposed to throw the whole package in the file, so if you are uncomfortable burning plastic (or whatever the packaging is made of), you might want to stay away. Again, it adds a little twist to the traditional fire.

These packages were quite a bit more fun than I thought they would be. The colors were bright and easily seen. It actually changed the color (multiple colors) of almost the entire campfire. They also burn for a while (appx 30 min). Since you are not supposed to cook on the colored flame, make sure you leave yourself enough time for the color to burn off before you try to cook.
I did find it a little strange that you threw the whole package in rather than open it up and sprinkle it over the fire. I was skeptical that it would work, but it wasn't a problem at all. Actually, it was a lot of fun; especially for my 9 year old nephew.
