The Capos That Iron Man Will Most Likely Use
Shepherd Boy✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 23, 2018
I got the red and gold capos. The 2-pack capos came in well packaged. Each capo is housed inside a purse-string bag and a box. So, essentially they were bagged and double-box. High marks already for the packaging. They are super light-weight. And easy to put on and move up and down my guitar's neck. The design is nothing new. You've seen them before. But, I prefer this clamping design over a brand whose name I will not mention. Although they are super expensive I still bought 2 of those because they were really pretty to look at and I thought I will like them. I did not. The clamping design just did not work for me. They hurt my fretting hand. So, I never got to use them. But, these 2 capos by Nordic Essentials are true examples of form and function done right. The design is similar to the ones I currently use by Planet Waves. But, a lot lighter and more affordable. The GOLD one went to my 6-string Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE with a V-neck and wider nut as it complements its Natural 'Gloss' Finish and gold hardware. The RED one went to my 6-string Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-45ME with a Slim Taper D profile neck as I thought it complements its Vintage Sunburst 'Gloss' Finish. I mentioned my guitars' neck profile because both capos worked perfectly even with the difference in neck profile, width and radii. As one reviewer has mentioned, the red capo as pictured here is different. It is much nicer in person. These color combination reminds me of IRON MAN. I will definitely buy more of these. All the available colors. The Fuchsia and Purple will go to my daughter.
Wow!

Wow! These are great capos. They work fantastic. Perfect fit on your guitar neck and no string buzz. The colors are awesome too. I got the gold and red. Note that the red in the picture looks more red maroon colored but the actual capo is a brighter red. Still pretty though. Very pretty with the darker woods. I highly recommend these. I am going to buy another pair of them!
Music to My Ears: Nordic Essentials Aluminum Universal Guitar Capo (2-pack)

I tried the Nordic Essential aircraft aluminum capos on a Baritone Uke, Tenor Uke, Gibson electrics, Fender electrics,
a 1970 Baldwin Burns electric, a circa 1960 Kay Flattop, a Taylor Mini and a Wechter Resonator. Having a variety of
stringed instruments provided me a chance to see how they would perform with the new capo. I tried the capos on 13
stringed instruments so they got a good workout by playing songs, bending leads, sweeps, flat picking, strumming,
and the like, all at different frets. All the instruments are either 6 or 4 string.

The capo performed well, from a 1-1/4 inch nut width tenor ukulele to a 1-3/4 inch nut width resonator, and everything
else in-between. The electrics are set up with nickel 9s and the action is low. On the acoustics the action is a bit higher,
especially on the Reso. I use Phosphor Bronze 11s & 12s on the 2 acoustics and 13s on the Reso. On the two Ukes I
am using Aquila New Nylgut strings that have metal strings on the third and fourth.

The capo feels very strong and clamps down on the strings with a firm force. The silicone pad works very well on all the
instruments I played no matter what strings, neck or fret I used. I moved the capo up and down playable frets of each
instrument and found no issues; no buzzing, no dead strings; the strings rang out at all playable frets. Best of all I did
not have to re-tune the instrument every time the capo was moved. Nice.

It is important that the capo be placed correctly on the fret board or there will be buzzes, sour or dead strings. In most
cases the capo should go right behind the fret. Some stringed instruments may require the capo be placed somewhere
in between the frets. Basically you have to experiment a bit to find how well your stringed instrument will receive this or
any capo and still be in tune. Musicians can have their stringed instruments set up differently and fret height and width
could have some affect as well.

If you can still get the 2 Pack deal, get it. Even if you don't have more than one stringed instrument it's worth it. The capo
comes with a handy dandy carrying black pouch. Great deal. Great capos for the price point.

5 Stars for the Nordic Essential Aluminum Universal Capo and, yes, I have another order in now. The capos are made in
China.
Finally, something that works like it says it would! Professionals making products for professionals.

Sorry it took so long to review your capo. I wanted to take it for several test runs including live gigs. I've been playing for over 40 years. These capos are awesome. I've tried many other brands, styles, and materials. Your's by far are better than the ones costing 5 times as much. The fret pad, spring action, and neck curve clamp looks like a lot of thought and science went into it. There were no strings left floating on my electric, acoustic, and classic guitars. I have 3 different neck radiuses. It was truly versatile. It was easy to use, and placement caused absolutely no damage to my guitars. The soft bag and box it comes in make for a great present for someone. Which means I'll be purchasing more.
The only improvement I can suggest is finding a way to put an anti-theft device built in it. It almost walked away twice.
These are nice capos for six string guitar or other singley strung ...

These are nice capos for six string guitar or other singley strung instruments. Well made, nice design, and the price is right. I like them a lot. Buy one for every guitar in your closet.

It does NOT however work for my 12 string guitar . The durometer rating or hardness of the rubber face is too hard to compress the octave strings on the twelve. When the capo is installed on the twelve, some of the octave strings buzz out.

This does not happen with the Kyser capo, the rubber is slightly less hard and it does compress enough to reliably capo the octave strings on the twelve, so for now, I will have to stick with the Kyser capo on the 12 string guitar.

These are wonderful capos for my six string guitars!

Had it worked on the 12 string guitar I would have given it five stars easily.
