Product not as described

Update: I contacted the vendor, and they sent the correct product (hollow core). Revised score to 4-star. (As a native Houstonian, I'm glad this Houston-based company had such good customer service.) However, beware of the 1/2" product.
Very disappointed. The product was not as described/shown. First, the listing shows a hollow-core wedge-shaped gasket. The hollow core is important, as it allows the gasket to compress and fit tightly. What was delivered (see photo) was a solid slab of rubber, completely incompressible. Second, the description was for a 1/2" width. The solid rubber was 1/2" but with the centralizer ribs, the overall width was 5/8". The gap I bought this for was exactly 1/2" in width. I had to shave off the ribs w/ a utility knife, and even then, driving a solid slab of rubber into the gap was not possible. I hammered on it w/ a mallet and 1x10 board, but it was a complete waste of $50.

12 years of freezing winters had destroyed the original expansion joint & opened the space where it once was to a dangerous heel eating crack. I ordered the sample pack to figure out what the right size was & then ordered da stuff. It went in easily with a little persuasion from my plastic hammer & several weeks latter looks & works great.
Expect an update after this winter.

This worked perfectly between my garage floor and driveway. I had a handyman install it and he took copies of the product to show other clients. Gray was the perfect color for my needs. Should last a very long time!
So easy!

Always buy one size smaller than you think you need

Works great but if you buy a size the same size you measure, it probably will be to big and you will not be able to use it. Buy the smaller ten foot roles if your crack varies which happens a lot do to expansion and contraction of concrete, measure the widest and narrowest area if it decreases width as it goes. This product works well as long as you get the right size if not it will not work at all. looks nice when finished.
