I was really disappointed in this mattress
Tam✓ Verified Purchase•August 25, 2017
I was really disappointed in this mattress. I made the choice to purchase this particular one after reading reviews that it was top rated. It did not meet my expectations. I figured it would provide a better night's sleep than the one I'd purchased years ago as my kids grew up. Not so-this did not have sides that prevent rolling off, in fact, it almost encourages you to roll off.
It is possible that among the taller mattresses this one is better because it does have baffles, but it is definitely no more comfortable than the shorter mattresses.
I do like that it is a little bit taller, and that it also comes along with its own inflator that easily tucks away after you inflate it.
I wouldn't recommend this one over any others because honestly this did not provide any kind of quality for the $100 it cost.

not the fault of manufacturer but 18" high is still too low to get up out of without the mattress sliding around,

The mattress is comfortable and inviting. It inflates easily. it is well made.
However---"I don't like it' because for us, it slid around on our wooden floor as soon as you try to put pillows and move it against a wall, to read or watch tv, and it is extremely dangerous for getting up... too low to the ground and to get up one has to brace oneself, to push up.. it's only 18" high , it starts to slide around. Slid out from under our guest, who almost fell backward... and hurt her back trying to catch herself. That was enough for us to deflate it and put it away. We did try putting it near heavy furniture that could be 'grabbed on to', but everything you grab, makes the mattress slide away.
If it were 21" height of a chair, the pushing up and off wouldn't be necessary, one could just press down to elevate and not have to do as much springing up. Think of how it is to get off of a low ottoman ---not so easy. But they are smaller and heavier so they don't slide around. The mattress is of course, basically weightless and it has no traction on the floor. it goes flying...and mimics sleeping on the floor but at least the floor doesn't move!
it may work for younger people but adults getting up who are unsteady, or arthritic, can't use it and even able bodied adults will find it uncomfortable to get into or depart from.
Needs something to hold it in place, a metal folding frame with short legs,== to elevate it slightly and keep it stable on the floor
The other problem besides the short height is the lack of a 'back, there is no bed board, attachable like the queen mattresses, that would allow for pillows not sliding off and propping oneself up to read before bedtime.. the pillows fall off the head of the bed and leaning against a wall, the bed slides out.
Had i known these issues would come up i would have skipped it..we waited too long to return it, and it's not the fault of the manufacturer...it's not 'defective' in materials, it's defective in its usability and design but i'm sure all of the air mattresses have the same problem if they are to deflate and inflate and fold up easily. they won't have a stiff frame ... but it should allow for a bed board and a frame to be purchased separately. Without those we can't use it. I anticipated the lack of a bed board and tried a big wedge pillow to help, but the pillow was too big and elevated at the wrong angle and slid off the back anyway.. I wasted about $200 on mattress, pillow wedge, and twin sheets...i thought i had it all figured out! Our elderly guest had to use our less than comfortable but safer couch to sleep on.
It will remain in the bag unless we have a young person over to stay with us.

Comfortable, well made

After experiencing a leak with a less expensive air mattress I decided to go with the ratings at Amazon and invest in the SoundAsleep. It's a guest bed so I don't know if it will truly last longer, but it's super comfy and so far, so good. It inflates fairly quickly and deflates easily. I also like the roomy bag which yes, can take a pillow, if you want to store a pillow with the bed.
Best air bed for the money!

More comfortable than my $1,200 mattress! Only downfall is even though flocked I stiill needed a heavy comforter between mattress, sheet and me so as not to be cold. Other than that it's great! Same height as standard furniture which was great. I butted the mattress up against the couch which gave me room to stretch out. SUPER FAST & EASY inflation and delation. Eady to fold up and return to drawstring bag (no struggling to get into bag). I've had several brands of air mattresses in the past that were tolerable, but this is truly an air bed, very comfortable!
You will be ready to make room for an overnight guest!

I bought this mattress and could not be more pleased with it. Totally happy with the quick and easy to set up, sturdy and comfortable material, quick to store back in a small bag - great night sleep. It's worth the money - trust me, I have tried a few of them before. This makes a great college gift, or to use for overnight guests~
