Great Smoking Cessation Product
RedAugust 4, 2017
Two weeks cigarette free, so far. When used in conjunction with other smoking cessation aids, these really help. Sometimes nicotine isn't enough, and you just want that hit. These deliver the same hit of smoking a regular cigarette. Great for that killer craving when I'm stuck in traffic and frustrated to the point of breaking. I've tried both menthol and non-menthol, and I agree with the other reviewers. Even though I smoked non-menthol cigarettes, these are the better choice. The menthol, though a little overpowering for a non-menthol smoker, have a much more pleasing taste and a better, more cigarette-like hit.

I'm giving this product a 4 star review, because they are great, but not perfect. The taste is a bit off-putting. If you smoke more than a few a day, they will make you cough a lot. Way worse than even Marlboro Red-strength tobacco. On the plus side, at the time of this review, the price is still about $40 a carton; much less than a carton of cigarettes. The seller hasn't raised the price, even though many new tobacco taxes have come into effect this year, raising prices. So, either the seller is honest, or hasn't seen that yet. We'll see which it is if the price goes up a lot soon.
Did not work great for me but....
Hard2PleaseMay 22, 2017
So as a daily smoker for most of 40 years with a few breaks of a month or less when attempting to quit, I finally made up my mind to quit for good. I wish it was because I chose to be healthier or more responsible toward the environment, but it was really because it just got too expensive with addition of the latest huge state taxon cigarettes. I knew from past experience that the tougher part for me would not be the nicotine withdrawal so much as my enjoyment of the ritual and habit. I figured if I could get over the nicotine craving first, I might have more success and less discomfort putting the cigarettes down for good and changing my mindless habits.

Mixed results. I did get past the nicotine withdrawal without nicotine aids pretty while easily using this product. In addition, because honestly it's not a particularly enjoyable product to smoke for my taste and sensory pleasure, I did cut down on how many I went through per day as time went by.

But after about six weeks since I substituted "Smoke Free" for my regular mentholated cigarettes, I have not yet beaten the psychological urge to smoke even these rather poor substitutes for my favorite cigarettes. I purchased three "cartons" of Smoke Free, finishing the last of them 3 days ago. I feel the same as I did as a smoker that had run out of cigarettes. The craving to smoke is still pretty intense. Maybe not as bad as if combined with nicotine addiction, but still pretty tough. The Smoke Free product pretty much just postponed the inevitable need to use will power in place of a crutch.

Delivery was prompt, packaging discreet. Less than half the price of cigarettes in my state since the $2.00 per pack tax took effect.
These taste great if your a menthol smoker
Pam SmithApril 20, 2017
These taste great if your a menthol smoker, which I am not. Saying that, I do not smoke as many of these because I don't like menthol and have not had a "real" cigarette in over a month now. I am using these with the patch. Hopefully I will get out of the habits I have like having a cigarette after dinner, upon waking up, etc. So happy they make these or I don't think I would be able to stop smoking. I am a 40 plus year smoker and wish I knew about these a long time ago.
No menthol flavor...but

Update my 3rd review!
I just tried the brand ecstacy menthol and they are amazing. Faboulus for the menthol, now I'm stuck between the smoke free menthol brand and ecstacy menthol. Smoke free menthol is not menthol but I started to enjoy the taste after smoking a carton. I might just buy a carton of each.
REVIEW 2
I just tried another herbal brand called honeyrose, it was discusting. Tasted like I was smoking menthol black tea. Smoke free is so far the better brand. I will be trying ectacy brand herbal cigarettes tomorrow to post a review. If they are just as terrible I will be changing my review on smoke free to a 5 star even if I think they need more menthol.
REVIEW 1
They worked for me, to be honest I didn't taste any menthol (why I gave a 4 star). I was a heavy marb black menthol smoker which is a heavy thick flavor. I ran out of my smokes 2 nights ago and I have only had smoke free menthol. Since I don't taste any menthol I chew mint gum to give it the affect of a menthol. In the beginning they seemed really light but you get used to them. These are starting to taste like a regular cigarette now. You will not be able to quit if you continue to smoke your cigarettes with these because you will prefer to inhale your favored flavor. I bought a carton to quit with. If owner of product is reading please make an extra menthol so I can buy and continue to buy your product.
Helping me quit w/out using patches or gum
TM ConwayJuly 29, 2016
Let me start by saying that using these Nicotine Free Cigarettes, I am not only quitting regular cigarettes, but I am able to do so without the nicotine patches and gums I was initially using.

I first tried these by purchasing just one pack. I ordered the carton & you will see why when I tell you a little about my smoking background.

This is not the first time that I have attempted to quit smoking and, even when I was quit for more than 2 years, my downfall was always "just one cigarette." As usual, I chose to use patches and gum to help me quit again & I was using both when I started writing a short essay about my relatioship with cigarettes. When I seriously thought about why I have smoked, quit, an relapsed (over and over), I realized that my biggest problem is not nicotine. Like a lot of attempting quitters, I've tried dealing with the oral fixation by chewing on things and trying to replace the gestures associated with smoking. I even recently ordered (and quickly returned) a tube-like product because just sucking on straws and the like doesn't satisfy my craving.

I crave the hand-to-mouth action and things like straw and plain tubes don't help me. Since I only want the occasional "draw-and-puff" action, I decided to get nicotine-free smokes. Originally tried the green tea cigs. They are good, but the spark quite a bit and I wanted something that better matched the resistance my tobacco smokes gave.

I tried these and even went with menthol (though I always smoked non-menthol tobacco). I love them. They are not something that I want to smoke constantly, but it's very nice to have them on hand. Whenever I have quit tobacco in the past, I would fall off the wagon when in situations that weakened me: 1- In social situations involving alcohol or a lot of other smokers, 2- When stressed/agitated, and believe it or not 3 - just when I wanted to enjoy a few moments relaxation. Because, yes, smoking is relaxing and enjoyable to me. Apparently, it doesn't matter if I am smoking tobacco or something without nicotine and as much tar.

These cocoa bean smokes are a perfect solution for the times when I want to enjoy an occasional smoke without getting hooked again on nicotine. Of course, the tar and other additives or byproducts aren't healthy & I'm getting that with any kind of inhaled smoke. I feel more confident that I will be able to avoid nicotine (and chain-smoking) because I will have these substitutes.

The smell of these is so pleasant that I can even smoke them in my car without stinking up the atmosphere. I should say that the smell is "inoffensive". Some people I know who really hated my tobacco smoke don't mind the smell from these. When I was telling a friend why I had these, we lit one up in her apartment just so that she could experience the smell and taste. She remarked that she could probably get away with smoking one every now and then in the bathroom without her S.O. getting mad. Also, if you ration your smokes & "butt" these to save for later, the smell is still not nasty. Try doing that with a tobacco cigarette!

I am in no way suggesting that anyone take up any other potentially bad habit for another, but for someone trying to quit tobacco, this is an excellent way to get over the craving for puffing/inhaling/exhaling. For me personally, I do think that I can kick nicotine & I believe I already have since I am not even using the patches/gum that I have, but I will always enjoy the occasional "smoke" even if it's a tobacco-free one. That's why I got a carton of these. They should last me forever.

After using these for a while, I can compare them to the green tea smokes I tried a carton of. The green tea ones are good & I raved about them as my first nicotine-free cigs. These cocoa bean smokes, though, are the winner for me. They are more like a regular cigarette as far as the feeling of "drawing" on one. If someone smoked light or mild regular cigs, the green tea ones might be better. The other difference with these (and this might just be me) is that the green tea ones dried out my throat. These are stronger in flavor, but smoother, IMO.

I hope this review helps anyone else out there who is struggling to quit nicotine.
