I wish I would have bought this instead of the soft cone! My cryptorchid elderly chihuahua had to be neutered initially we got him the soft sided cone for after the the surgery. The day before we were to take him back in to get his stitches removed we realized he had scratched them out with his back leg. He had to be put under anesthetic again, completely cleaned out and inside and outside stitches had to be replaced. If I would have gone with the Suitical Recovery Suit in the first place it would have saved my dog a lot of pain and suffering and would have saved me $800...

This little post op suit (size Small Plus) has been perfect for our Moyen Poodle. She was spayed and we bought this to avoid using a cone or donut collar on her and to prevent our other two dogs from licking or messing with her suture line.
I've seen some complaints about the sizing but we had no issues. It fits like a glove. I would caution you to measure from about midneck to the very base of the tail. I noticed in the product's pictures that it appeared that the collar fell at about midneck so that's where I measured from and it worked out perfectly.
It has kept her and the other two dogs from bothering her stitches and it doesn't seem to bother her at all. You can see she's playing happily in her Suitical in the photo. We did stick on a panty liner in the "lady bits" area to soak up any dribbles after she goes potty to keep her from soiling the suit. (I found that tip in another review.)
I would recommend this unless you have a chewer on your hands. While the fabric is heavier than I thought it would be, there's no way it would hold up to chewing for very long.

This was an absolute LIFESAVER. I have two German Shepherds who have been fixed. We tried the cone...they shook it off or ran into something to crack it. We tried those neck donuts...they popped it in under an hour. I was about to resort back to the cone of shame when I saw this. Neither of my dogs minded wearing it, and it didn't let them lick at their stitches. One piece of advice...buy two. One to wear and one to wash, because puppies are always having accidents :)

What a life saver! This thing is the greatest replacement for the cone of shame, I can't believe the vet doesn't sell them. You have to unsnap it before taking them out to the bathroom, but the inconvenience of it is worth it to get rid of that awful cone.

A great alternative to the traditional E collar. Fulfills its intended purpose in every way. It is obviously necessary to be aware when the dog needs to go out to pee...(ask me how I know)...BTW, washes well with no shrinkage...
