Installed....with effort

I wasn't sure if I should buy LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Collection. I have a 5th gen Fire tablet, and after reading reviews I knew that it probably wouldn't install correctly and buying it would be a waste of money. Its currently on sale for a dollar, so I took the chance. After trying 3 times, it didn't install. Frustrated but unsurprised, I started the download one more time, put my tablet to sleep and went to bed myself. I woke up the next morning, and it was installed! I guess The Force was with me.
While I can't be 100% sure that putting the tablet to sleep while the game was downloading is what made it install correctly, its the only thing that makes any sense. So its what I recommend trying for anyone who's having problems. One other thing I should mention is that the game downloaded to my tablet's internal memory, not my SD card. It won't allow me to move it to my SD card either. Make sure you have enough space on your internal memory before downloading!
I wanted to get this review written quickly, so other Fire users could try the sleep trick while the game is still on sale for May the 4th Be With You week. From the time I've played, it seems pretty close to the LEGO Star Wars I know and love. I'd still recommend the console or PC version, or even the Google Play version since its apparently updated more often by the game devs. But if this is the only port you can get or you want to be able to take it anywhere on your Amazon device, the game works well (as long as you can get it to install.)
Unlike newer LEGO games, SW: The Complete Collection doesn't have voice acting. But it does have the trademark LEGO humor that puts a hilarious touch on some of the most memorable Star Wars moments. And if the story isn't enough to keep you entertained, there's a HUGE amount of unlockable characters, collectables and secrets.
Graphics, music and sound are all very nice. I haven't had any lag or glitches, even on my cheap tablet. There are two options for controls: Touch and classic. Classic controls are what you'd expect, with a directional pad on one side of the screen, and action buttons on the other. Touch controls are a little more confusing, and don't work nearly as well. No matter which control option you choose, there are some tricky and frustrating jumps. Moments that will make you wish for a gamepad like your sanity depended on it. Besides those few moments, fighting through hordes of stormtroopers and running around collecting studs is easy and fun.
Unlike the console and PC ports of the game, the android version doesn't support cheat codes. Its kind of a bummer since cheating just to goof around added some fun. I almost took a half point from the review because of the lack of cheats, but the overall review score is already lowered by the install glitch.
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Collection is a favorite among fans for a reason: Its awesome! Well worth buying and playing....as long as you can get it to install. Try to buy it on sale in case you can't.
Overall Score: 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading, good luck with installing, and May The Force Be With You!

Ok. Let me make a confirmation I wouldnt have this game if my 5 year old brother wouldn't have bought it without my parents consent and I played the Wii version of this game and beat it so the game is good but I know its a port but I think it lacks important features like being able to make custom characters unless I just am not seeing it because I haven't played the Wii version in several years but other than that it is a solid port and I received it to anyone that likes Lego games, star wars, or anyone who wants to have something to do on any day
Cheap and Easy fun for the kids

I bought this for the kids to play whenever we have the tablet in the car on road trips and it's just an easy cheap game for them to pull up. For the money, you really can't go wrong!
Disco Glitch

I love this game so much. There is so much to unlock and find. It is a masterpiece.
I have not even completed it yet. However, there is one problem. In Return of the Jedi Chapter 2 there is a disco room, where Luke has to use the force on a disco ball, causing there to be pad like things that you can step on. But they only soon sometimes, not every time you play the level. In fact the pads appeared only once for me. Please fix this glitch

Fun game at a very good price

It's important to consider that this is a 2015 port of a game from 2007 that costs $2.50. From that perspective, it's very good.
Highlights include the number of levels and characters available. There's definitely enough content here to keep someone occupied for awhile. Additionally, this is nearly $5 cheaper than the Google Play Store version of the same game (which I also think is adapted from the PS2 release, or, less likely, the Wii), and $17.50 cheaper than the Microsoft Store version (which was originally released for the Xbox 360).
Negatives include the fact that the touch screen controls, even in "classic" mode, don't seem to be very responsive, nor does the virtual analog stick seem to be very accurate. It also doesn't seem to be compatible with bluetooth controllers, which isn't entirely surprising considering the release date, but is still a bit disappointing. Additionally, the graphics definitely show their age, and gameplay can get a bit repetitive in areas. Finally, the vehicle-based levels are mostly annoying.
Overall, if you're looking for games in the Amazon Appstore, this is a solid choice, especially for only $2.50.
