This product is solid and far better than I expected it to be based on other reviews.

I'm using this with my iphone. The app is easy to download and setup. You answer a few questions about your sleeping environment, provide an email for registration and you're on your way.

The setup of the actual device is also easy. You simply plug it in and point it toward the approximate area where your chest is when you lay down at night. Once I set it up I never again needed to adjust it except for a night where I accidentally knocked it over reaching for the lamp.

I was easily able to connect to the device each night via bluetooth and wake up in the morning to see a custom report of my sleeping pattern at night. My past experience with bluetooth devices is pretty poor but this device connects quickly and maintains its connection throughout the night.

As far as I can tell this product seems to accurately know when I'm awake and when I'm sleeping. For the first couple weeks I was very diligent to note times when I woke up or when I left my bed during my sleep routine and the app was able to accurately reflect that in nearly all cases. The only time I ever thought there might possibly be a discrepancy were times when I woke up and nearly instantly had fallen back asleep.

I paid $50 for this product and at that price I highly recommend it. If it had been selling at the MSRP price on ResMed's website (which is over $100) I probably would not have purchased it or at least I would have been more reluctant.

The reason I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because the advice that is provided to help improve your sleep was good but not necessarily very relevant for me. Overall, if you want a solid product, that is easy to setup, and that accurately (at least based on my experience) records your various phases of sleep throughout the night and does all of this without having to physically touch you then I can highly recommend this product.
Fun little product - but bad company where 'no longer supported' apparently means 'remove Application so you can't use your S+'

Amazing device that seems to mostly work as 'advertised'. There are some nights that I think it doesn't decode me right, but most of the time its amazingly as accurate as I am able to tell (which, given that most of the time I'm asleep!, may not be significant...).

I bought this one after a friend loaned me his. We ran them both for a while (one on each side of the bed) until he wanted his back. Was sorry to have to return it. Haven't bought a replacement for ME yet (wife is using ours), but I'm considering it. There didn't seem to be any issue with using one on each side of the bed.

UPDATE - I just bought a new phone, and imagine my shock when the S+ app was no longer in the app store for android.

Its gone. So, not only do they 'not support' it, they don't even let you put the application on your new phone so you can keep using your S+.

Before this, I had ResMed in my 'cool company, keep an eye out for their stuff so you can consider buying it'.

Now, they are in my 'Great product, terrible support, do not buy their products' list.

oh, well.

This is a tough one for me to review - the pros are as strong as the cons:

Pros: it works very well
- Dog: My dog roams around the bed all night long and the device has not had any issues keeping its attention on me. Of note, the app asked me if I have a dog that sleeps with me.
- The device sits to the side and 'watches' me, without bothering me.
- I've never tried sleeping with sounds before this device. I tried it and it seems to help distract me long enough to calm my mind (in addition to the melatonin I take, of course)
- The metrics seem to reflect the feeling I have in the morning. The app itself shows deep sleep and REM, and provides targets for what these numbers should generally be. I'm sure it's not 100% perfect, but what matters to me is a consistent metric that I can do analysis on with a lot of data being collected.

Cons:
- Connecting this to your device is a mess
I made 5 attempts to connect this to my android phone (pixel) and it failed. On the second attempt, I was able to connect this device to my iphone (7) and it has maintained the connection. This is a con for me, since my iphone is a work device and I prefer not to have to do personal things with it. I'll have to address how I want to ues the S+ when I no longer have an apple phone.
- I haven't quite worked out how to extract all the data that the device collects, efficiently, yet.

I weighted this relatively highly, because it is a fairly cheap device that doesn't impinge on your being while you sleep. The metrics are good. They are consistent. IF you can get it to connect to your device, it's worthwhile. So, I suggest trying it out and if it doesn't connect after 5 attempts, return it asap. Just know that you might be getting a dud.

That's about it. The device is, itself very easy to use
Nice product with potentially useful benefits!

This is a cool product. It was recommended by a friend, so I got one for myself for Christmas. I've used it for about a week now, and can see how it will have some definite benefit. It monitors light and noise levels in your sleeping space, as well as your breathing and movement, in order to calculate your sleep score. The Android app works as expected, providing a comprehensive overview of how well (or how poorly) you sleep. Basically, it works as expected, with a few disappointments.

For one thing, it seems to have a limited effective distance range. It keeps complaining that it is not close enough to me. I have it on the nightstand next to my bed, but I sleep facing away from it, with a pillow against my back. So, even though it claims to be able to sense through bedding, it still 'complains' in its reports about the distance. It does, however, seem to be able to provide feedback in spite of this.

The other thing, for me, is that it needs to be set to 'sleep' mode when I am ready to turn in. I happen to like to sit up watching TV until I fall asleep. Having to remember to fiddle with my phone to tell the S+ that I'm getting ready to sleep is a bit of a drag. My thought; my FitBit knows when I am falling asleep. ResMed ought to work with FitBit to link these things so I don't have to 'turn it on.'

All-in-all, I'm happy with the product, with the purchase price, and with the performance so far. It looks like it's built well and seems like it will be sturdy (no moving parts, just a magnet that holds it in place). Time will tell, and I'll update this review if needed, but so far, so good.

This gives much more detail than our jawbone up3's or my fitbit charge hr2, and is unobtrusive. Just point it at the body and it tracks sleep. No mats or wires to the bed or equipment to wear. Your smartphone does have to be plugged in to the device through the night, and the device acts as a charger as well. It IS a bit finicky sometimes. If you don't end it properly in the morning, then you have to unplug it, turn off bluetooth, close the app, then turn it all back on again. THEN it will have to sync for several minutes. If you do end it properly it will usually be fine, but we may still have to run that sequence sometimes but not the sync. I'll estimate 2 times each week we've had to mess with it at night to set it up, so that's a bit frustrating hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Else it's been a very good device.
