Nice rose-gold, slightly textured case, lighter than some.

Nice rose-gold case with a bit of texture to it, so it's not completely slick.
Out of the box, I couldn't figure out how to get it on the phone. The two previous battery cases I've had were both different, and the instructions on this one were a tiny picture only, with no written directions or clues. After several minutes, my husband (yes, I had to ask him to help) was able to figure it out and get the phone in the case. It fits well, looks good, and doesn't seem to be quite as heavy as the other brands I've had previously. It charges with a regular charging cord, not a Lightening cord, so that's a plus. It also comes with an extra bumper that's a clear plastic in hot-pink. if you want a change from the rose gold.
I like it, and time will tell as to how it holds up. I can't comment on how well it will do, as I've just received it, but I'll try to remember to update this later.

The case does not stay locked around the phone, I have to keep to keep snapping it shut. I do find it not slim and not that much thicker than my phone with its normal case. The weight does not seem to be that much of a bother either. Just the fact that it will not stay the top and bottom will stay together. The cables are hard to plug into the bottom and does seem too keep the phone charged.

I gave this product to my son, who drops phones constantly and burns out their batteries quickly. He has liked the case up until a recent issue, where the rough, grippy rubber coating all came off, leaving a black residue all over the case. He had bug spray on his hands, then handled his phone. The coating on the case basically dissolved. Also, it takes a LONG time for the case to charge. (6-8 hours) It didn't add much thickness to the phone, and the length is acceptable as well. The micro-usb port is upside down, so accidently attempting to force the micro-usb plug in, can easily happen.
ALSO, I gave my wife one. The case comes fully charged, and it charged my wife's phone the one time, but after I plugged it in to charge the case, the case wouldn't charge (it sat over night, and the entire next day on various plugs and outlets). Since the phone was nearly dead, we took it out of the case and plugged the phone in by itself... but it no longer took a charge. According to an Apple Technician, the phone was burned out, and would no longer accept anything, and I'd have to buy a new IPhone. Alpatronix agreed to refund me my money for the case, but takes no responsibility in their product wrecking a really expensive phone. They claim it was purely coincidental that the IPhone died being plugged into their product. (even though the IPhone was in flawless condition)
ALSO, I gave my wife one. I've only had this case for a few days. Here are my initial thoughts.
Pro
* For being an extra battery, its not as heavy or bulky as I would have expected
* Weight feel on par for what the product is
* Easy to use and turn on the storage; I've loved that I don't have to worry about carrying around an extra charging cord or power charger now
* Quickly gets battery filled up
* Looks nice; I don't like products that have a lot of logos (only wish the A was white like the rest so it wouldn't show as much)
* I can use the same charger for this as I do for my bluetooth earbuds and Kindle so that's helpful!
Con
* The feel of this is somewhat slippery, I wish it had a more rubber like texture, at least on the bumper face. I'm afraid this will slide easily out of my hands. I'm going to see if I can find some sort of texture sticker to help.
* Needs an earbud extender - I went ahead and bought bluetooth earphones so I don't have to mess with carrying around the extender
I have some heavy travel coming up so I'm excited to see how it performs.

I just ordered my third Alpatronix battery case. This is a great product, can't live without it. So when it dies - and it dies suddenly - I have to order another. My son bought me my first Alpatronix because I travel a lot and was always wary of not having enough charge on my phone. The Alpatronix solved that. I could get several charges on my phone from just one Alpatronix charge - a very secure feeling. That one died when I plugged it into a USB port on a Hawaiian Airlines plane. I bought the second about a year ago. Loved it, couldn't live without it - no more plugging into strange ports. I went to California for two weeks, depending on my Alptronix to be by my side. It quit working the first week. So, I am ordering another one. It's a love/not love relationship, but I love it a lot more than not. I just factor in the cost as part of my phone budget.
