My experience was the same as other reviewers...online mode DOES NOT WORK ON THE KINDLE FIRE 7. In installed it on two Fire 7's and the result was the same on both of them. Incidentally, I also installed the app on a Kindle Fire HD 8 and it worked just fine. The entire reason for purchasing the app was so that all of my kids could play together (on their own devices) online against their uncle in OH. I will be seeking a solution or a refund tomorrow. I'm highly disappointed.

Update: Amazon was apologetic and issued a refund.

This app DOES NOT WORK on kindle fire. My wife and I downloaded it on our I phones and loved it. We even went out and bought the Catan board game & put the included bumper sticker on our car. We love the game. So, when we got our kindle fires for Christmas, we both downloaded the game and the expansions , just to find out $30 later that it doesn't work. Online mode doesn't work at all and campaign mode CONSTANTLY freezes. We called Amazon, who couldn't figure out out and referred us to the creators of the application. So, we emailed back and forth and they told us to unregister our kindle. Which, if we do, we can't download anything else and the hassle of unregistering and registering again isn't user friendly at all. I was hoping for a refund, which we asked for, but weren't even acknowledged. If you own a kindle fire, do not spend your money on this. We are upset and feel completely ripped off!!!! We spent $30 for the app for our phones, $40 for the board game, and $30 AGAIN for the app for our fires. You would think they would try and fix this, but no signs of it. All I want is our money back!!!!!!!

Decent graphics, great replay value. My first exposure is this Kindle version, I had not played the board game before. Still haven't mastered all the rules and options; the role of the cards isn't explained well. I have noticed that choosing the best settlement sites in the first turn often makes or breaks the game, so take some time and figure that out first. I am currently apprehensive about buying any expansions given the other reviews, that keeps me from granting 5 stars. I have lost content on other Kindle strategy games and that is super-frustrating.

I would give this game more stars but to play the game solo (don't have time for multiplayer) you have to buy the expansions and scenarios.Also, it has a bug where once the robber is placed (not by the AI) the main menu on the side disappears and to get it back the game has to be shutdown then started again. This bug is enough to rate it two stars but the game itself is fun. Others on the Internet have said that the game is unfair and this seems to be true. If the full game had cost only 9 or 10 dollars the bugs would be bad but spending $20 on a glitchy game with an unbalanced AI is at the very least not good.

After being disappointed with the gameplay in the original 3.99 purchase, I spent an additional 8.99 to actually be able to play.

I was never able to get a PvP online game working.

Amazon updated the app, and now its back to the trial version, and it lost all my stats!

The game is fun, but its a bait and switch, and I will never use the amazon app store again.
