Application of var-focal M12 lens for a Raspberry Pi
Jonathan E Cohen•January 10, 2017
Lens came right on time. Now I only need to work up a M12 adapter for a Raspberry Pi camera module and then I will have a better assessment of the lens.

Great Hobbyist Lens!
Amazon Customer•November 24, 2016
It says it's for 1/3" cctv cameras, however I used mine on a mini ip board camera without any problems. Usually the back focus is a problem when buying some varifocal lenses, but in this case for my use I didn't have any problems getting it into focus throughout the range. The image quality is clear and it works well for my hobby purposes of having the tiny board camera sitting in a window looking at a hummingbird feeder this fall for hummingbird migration. For other cameras I couldn't say, because sometimes you don't have enough back focus - however - if you're a hobbyist with access to a mini mill like I have you can always shave 2-3mm off of your camera's screw in lens mount and achieve back focus properly. That's a hobbyists tip and not any thing I'd recommend unless if you are handy with tools and know what you're doing since you'll void all of the warranty's of your camera. So try that at your own risk.
Overall this is a great lens. Works great with most miniature ip or older analog style miniature board cameras. The image is clear and no discernible image distortion at the edges of the image. It's came decently packaged and shipped, nothing fancy, and worked out of the box so to speak. If you're on a budget and need a variable focus lens then I'd say give this one a try.
