The large version was small for my 11 pound cat. It's narrow towards the back and doesn't have a lot of ventilation. Be clear - it is ventillated so the pet can breathe - but seems like it would be hot in warm weather. It is well constructed and easy to carry with the cat inside. It is soft but sturdy. My cat was able to turn around inside. The fabric seems to be water repellent. The bottom has "feet" so the soft carrier does not sit completely on the ground- just in the middle which keeps it from tipping over. It collapses to about an inch thick if a weight is sitting on it. It seems less threatening to my geriatric cat than the hard sided kennel. The shoulder strap is strong and sturdy. I did not hear any seams popping when carrying my cat. I wish I had bought it sooner. I have had my hard sided carriers for almost 30 years and am upgrading my crates because the hard sided crates are heavy and bulky. With this carrier I can either hand carry or sling it over a shoulder and leave. The carrier all black interior seems like a cave and my cat likes to hide. She also likes to be warm. She likes soft things. I hope this carrier works as well for you as it has for me.

We've got two adult cats, one of which is a really big guy at 17 pounds (he is overweight which we're dealing with, but he's also just a very large framed cat). The big guy has stretched a supposedly hard sided carrier to the point that the door pops out. Obviously, that doesn't do us much good with keeping him secure for vet visits. When I saw these soft-sided carriers, I wasn't positive they would work for us, particularly since our other cat has all of her claws and that mesh didn't necessarily look too sturdy in the picture. These were on sale for a deep discount on Easter Sunday so I took a chance and snapped up a couple of them to try with our critters.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the quality to be pretty high and as soon as as zipped them up into their carrier shape and set them out with the doors open, both of our cats immediately climbed in them just to hang out. The size is perfect for even a larger adult cat -- not too small that he can't move around or turn around, but not big enough for either cat to be sliding around on the journey. With the long shoulder strap, they were easy to carry to and from the car without jostling the cats around too much which I appreciated since our female cat is pretty skiddish about taking trips anywhere. I will admit to being afraid that the zipper would hold up to 17 pounds of cat hanging off of it, but so far so good. I can't speak to the durability of the mesh when pitted against claws because our little one was too scared of where she was going to really try to escape, but it seems like it would hold up to casual abuse at least. There was a slight new material kind of odor when I first got these out of the package, but I didn't notice it after airing them out for a bit and the cats didn't care so it wasn't an issue.

All in all, these are great carriers that I think should work fine for both smaller and larger sized cats and in my tiny house, I love that they fold up almost flat for storage. Worth it at the sale price I paid, worth at the regular price as well.

I've used this carrier now three times to transport my cats. It holds up well and makes traveling with them easier than with a small crate. I like that I can only open the back portion to "push" the cat in from the back and make them walk forward as my cats do not like being transported anywhere. I feel like they are more comforted by the softer environment, however, I wish it was just a tad taller so I could put a blanket on the bottom, however, it does exactly what I was looking for. The cats can look out and see around them on the sides. They can adjust their position as well as turn themselves around if they feel like it (it's tight for this maneuver, but they still did it). I also appreciated that when I was in the car and riding as the passenger with the cat on my lap I could easily unzip whatever portion I wanted in order to pet the cat and comfort her. The other plus to this carrier is that you can fully unzip the entire thing so that it is completely open and flat, so if you have a cat that doesn't want to come out, you can fully unzip it and they have no option. This came in handy when one of my cats was super angry about being at the vet office and refused to come out for the exam.

We love these carriers so much we bought two. I love that they fold up for easy storage. The design is smart in that it narrows at the top so that the bag doesn't 'pinch' like square bags tend to do when carrying our fur babies. We've even received compliments on our bags from the local shelter and our vet. Great design and fantastic price!

My daughter and I have each owned one of these carriers and used it for travel in cars and on planes for 5 years. It's durable, well ventilated, but also has space for the cat to pull back and feel hidden. We lay a jacket over the top if needed at times for more privacy. It fits easily under airplane seats. There is a velcro patch on the bottom which keeps it from sliding - but you also have to put your foot underneath to be able to slide it forward under the seat or the velcro prevents sliding it under. The external pouch is a handy place for vet papers if needed, but also fits our collapsable water & food bowls. We are able to place the carrier on top of our rolling suitcase and move through the airport with ease - AS LONG AS you hold the carrying strap tight with your same hand. Otherwise the carrier will fall off bc it wasn't made with a pocket or anything for that purpose. We love this carrier and it has held up well over 5 years for each of us.
