My daughter is nearly 8, about 50 lbs, about 4' 1" tall and the small size fits her perfectly! Just exactly as the advertising photo shows the fit. I forget to take one of her, otherwise I would post it. The hem goes to just at her ankles so you can see the golden strappy sandals we bought (Sam Edelman Kids Danica Laceup Sandal - perfect for this costume) and I don't have to worry about her tripping while going up/down stairs or running from house to house to gather Halloween treats! It arrived a few days after I ordered it and I loved it so much a good friend ordered one for her 8 yr daughter too after seeing it on my daughter. The color is cream (not white) and turquoise and even the cheap leafy headband fits and looks good.
