I carry these in my wallet for that infrequent moment when I find myself without reading glasses or bifocals in the store trying to read the ingredients on something or a menu etc. I am 5'9", 165 and have been sitting on these in my wallet on an almost daily basis and they have held up perfectly. The lenses are clear and pretty durable, as I have dropped them about six times with no damage. Here's the problem: they come off my nose very easily--even if I spread them first. Most people crinkle their noses when taking a bite of food or sniffling. If you do this they will fall off--so no reading while eating because these glasses will fall off in your food. And no sniffling either. So, for infrequent or short-term use they are fine. I suspect the falling off may be a characteristic of all pince nez type glasses, but these could use a little more grippy material on the nose pads. I think some reviewers make the mistake of comparing them to standard reading glasses, which is unfair. For what they are, they work well.

Color me impressed! I have a bowling teammate who has had ThinOptics for a while. I finally decided to order a pair for myself ... in red. I get so many compliments on them and they are very handy to have around. I have the included holder attached to the back of my cell phone so that they are never far away. I've have many pairs of reading glasses over the years, but these are by far the best. Every time I wear them, somebody asks me for ordering info. I finally decided to write a review because one of the nose pads broke. The only flaw with these glasses that I've found (for me) is that I forget I'm wearing them when I eat. The chewing motion seems to cause them to lose their grip on my nose. They fallen off dozens of times while eating, usually into food. Since I don't need them to eat, just to read the menu, it's a good reminder to put them away. Long story short, they finally broke. But replacement was a breeze from the manufacturer and the lifetime guarantee. Five minutes later and my new glasses are on their way. I recommend these glasses to anybody that needs reading glasses and I buy them as gifts for friends. You can't go wrong with excellent quality and a lifetime guarantee!

I got these for my husband after he saw his friends had them stuck on the back of their cell phones. He loves them. They don't fall out of the pod case, and they are way more convenient that carrying around a regular pair of reading glasses. Handy for reading menus and labels on food items, etc. No more glasses falling out of shirt pockets or getting broken when crushed in pants pockets, or left behind in the car or at home.
10/29/17 UPDATE - The downsides: 1) He's had them for 7 months now. I've had to replace the stickum 3 times with double-sided tape. His phone is protected by an Otter Box. Each time I peel off the old tape and then clean both surfaces well with acetone to remove all tape residue, then clean it with rubbing alcohol to remove any traces of acetone, then wash both the phone case and the pod case, and then clean again with rubbing alcohol before reapplying the tape. It lasts maybe a month to a month and a half. I know it is going to happen again... so going to Home Depot to see if they have a stronger version of double sided tape. It's getting annoying and they unstick at the most inconvenient times. 2) The lenses are now a haze of scratches which tells me they are not very scratch resistant (no real coating on them) and/or they are made from a softer plastic than prescription glass lenses. I don't really know. Just guessing. He's not gentle on stuff yet he has traditional reading glasses that he has had much longer, and uses them daily at home, and they are not even half this scratched up. In spite of those two things, they are still worth having.

These do work as advertised but Thinoptics should really clarify it's warranty. When you register your glasses the company states that the lifetime warranty applies to retail store purchases or those made directly from their site. I do not consider Amazon a discount store, it is an on-line store where companies and people can sell items at varying prices, like any other place. As these come in the Thinoptics box and is only fulfilled by Amazon, that should qualify for the lifetime warranty. As it is, its left as a question in the buyers mind, something Thinoptics can fix at no cost, just make the policy very clear. If a purchase through Amazon doesn't qualify for the lifetime warranty then the description should be honest and upfront with customers. No excuse for this gray area in the warranty policy.

As short duration readers they work well. They fit my nose well but would not stay put for my wife no matter where she placed them. Thats ok because the website says it should fit most, not all. The lens quality seems very good and they are very light. You do need to make sure they are put on straight and that can take two or more tries since you need to flex them to put them on. With regular glasses you just slip them on and they line up, with these you need to do that. You also need to make sure they are equal distance away from both eyes and its surprisingly easy to have one lens closer to one eye than the other. You'll get used to it but its not just a stick on and use affair.

They are very thin for sure. I did notice glare if there is any light behind you. An anti-glare coating would probably help. Since the lenses are either flat to your face or slightly tilted outward at the sides, reflections from the side easily show on the inside.

If you wear them for more than a short read, you will notice them on your nose as they rely on a slight pinch to stay put. If you sneeze, be prepared to catch them because they will probably come off, it happened to me. Same with smiling.

Overall, I'm satisfied with them. While not a replacement for regular readers, they are thin, light and easy to take anywhere. For reading menus, instruction sheets and so on, they do a good job. As for the smartphone attachment, that sounds better than it works. While thin, it has to make the case slightly thicker so if you like a thin phone, adding something onto it probably isn't for you. Sticking the case to a tablet or laptop works but only if you carry that around with you or buy another pair (probably the intent).

The price is reasonable as readers are getting more expensive all the time. A nice bonus would be a quantity discount, say 3 for $35 or something like that. I won't buy an extra pair at the current price. I am still trying to find the place I'd attach the case to where the glasses would reside while still being available. Realistically, the answer is multiple pairs but regular readers, while being larger do offer some advantages and being bulkier, contrary to what you'd think, are easier to remember and not leave in a pocket of your other short, pants or jacket.

If I didn't have a pair I would buy another but I won't buy more to have around.

Very nice glasses. Small and easy to use. The only reason these did not get more stars is the INCREDIBLY misleading packaging. On the box is a message "FREE Replacement Glasses Forever" and on the case is a note "Activate your Free Replacement Glasses forever..." (see picture) unfortunately this is only an extension of the basic 90 day warrantee again defects as it specifically states:
"This Warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with another product; (b) to damage caused by accident, abuse or misuse, including, but not limited to, scratches and broken lenses; or (c) to defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product."

Not much of a free replacement claim. Very misleading!!
