Very easy to install

This is perfect!love the finished product.I think it will hold up well..2 guys 3 hours..never had done it before!i added a lightweight sunshade to top.I love it!great product.
Happy enough for now, but could have been much better. We hope the connections don't fail.

Overall we're pleased with the pergola. We were disappointed to discover that ALL the horizontal pieces are half-length and must be secured together with an unaesthetic clip and extra screws. You can't see the ugly connection pieces in the image. I'm sure this makes for easy shipping, but adds significantly to assembly time as well as makes for a weaker structure overall. I recommend adding the 2x6 as directed in the manual in horizontal each piece so it will hold up to snow load, etc. Also, there are two end pieces/supports which are pre-drilled for mounting the hangers for each joist, although there was no mention of that in the manual either. Also, the manual bragged about lots of "extra" screws, but there weren't. We barely had enough.
Looks great and really makes the patio stand out.

Great project! I actually made it 12x11 to suit my needs. Everything went together as described. My only comment would be that they make the joist hangars out of something more durable. I worry that the pvc or plastic joist hangars will be durable enough to stand the test of time. The manufacturer does exclaim that in no way should you hang anything from the structure. So aupportingbits own weight should be a non-issue. Aside from the kit, all the lumber cost about 120.00. All in all just under 1500.00. NICE!!
