Not bad, but motion detection very buggy

This was my second attempt at getting a decent, moderately priced, home security camera. I first bought a Pannovo camera that was cheaper, but it was awful and was returned. I've used the ALC camera for a couple weeks now. It was easy to get connected. No problem with the phone app (Android). My intent for this camera was to provide some monitoring of how my mother was doing getting through her medicine routine each day. I set it up near where she does her medications before each meal and it is indeed helpful to see what she is doing. The two-way voice communication is handy. My main complaint is that the motion detection is inconsistent at best. I wanted to get an alert when she came into the area of the camera and I'd be able to look in on how she was doing. I played with the sensitivity settings and could never get anything that was near consistent. You can wave your hand in front of the camera and sometimes it just ignores you. Other times, the slightest movement will send you 3 alerts. I'm keeping the camera, but the motion alert is very disappointing. I tried a phone number for a technician that I found in a response to another reviewer and left a voicemail asking for assistance with the motion sensitivity, but never got a call back. So much for customer service on this product. As I said, I'm still going to use it because it does most of what I want at a decent price point. It is also worth noting that their app for the iPad is pretty buggy. It just shuts down when you try to open Settings. There is no PC interface.
Good some of the time

Good some of the time. The set up and connection to the wifi was easy enough. I had a problem getting the micro-sd card to stay in. It never really feels or looks like it's all the way in, but finally just had to trust it was connected, and thankfully it now is. The major issue is the app interface. It's slow and clumsy, not refined at all. When opening the app, the connection to the camera can take 10-15 seconds, if it connects at all. I've found this really depends on your connection speed, whether you are on wifi, 4g or 4g LTE. And my biggest complaint is the recording capability. I have it set for the maximum sensitivity, but it still seems to not want to record most of the time. When it detects motion, it's supposed to record a minute of video onto the sd card. I have a dog walker that enters the front door where this thing is watching, and in 2 weeks, it's only bothered to record her once. Once in a while it will record the dogs moving around, but rarely. I use a different camera to watch that area from another angle and I see the dogs jumping up and down on and off the couch all the time, but there will maybe be one recording of it on this thing. If you're not too hard core about security and just want to check in on the dogs once in a while, this works fine. I'm sure there is better out there for the price.

This has been the best "out of box" experience I have ever had! I had bought an ALC AWF 11 (fixed) & an AWF 13 (pan & tilt) model from Fry's Electronics and this third one through Amazon because Fry's was out of stock. Down loaded the App. for my Android, plugged in the camera, clicked on "Add Device" and poof, there was the image in full color on my phone. Plugged in the other two cameras, added them, and bingo, up and running. The AWF 13 Pan & Tilt is awesome. You just slide your finger up or down, left or right, and the camera follows your command.
Its easy to switch between cameras. No monthly fees, just buy the camera. The night time IR is black & white with good definition and it sees much farther than the 15' called out in the specs. Just works well right out of the box.

It is good enough.

Owned this for awhile now. Android app works great, I also run an Android app emulator on my linux desktop to view camera on my large desktop screen. I have also connected to the camera from my win8 laptop running an Android emulator...point being the app is adequate enough to be run from any common device. I have not tested on a crapintosh and don't care to. I prefer function over trendy garbage for posers.
The only downside is the motion detection at night is worthless, all I ever pick up is moths that seem to love the led indicator.

Not a bad setup

Connection to andriod using my Verizon mifi card was easy. Falsly alerts, but I live in the country so it could be I didn't see what flew past. Doesn't have the field of view I hoped for but picture was not bad for observation and live view. It was crisp picture.
