Kept caulk fresh in tube for more than one year
Terrence Walsh•August 7, 2017
In the world of paint and caulk there are THOUSANDS of nifty tools and gadgets to improve your life. Some work. THESE WORK.
Have used these caulk tube end caps for several years. How good are they?
1. More than once a tube sealed for at least ONE YEAR was still perfectly usable when unsealed. (Clearly, Caulk Caps pay for themselves.)
2. The yellow silicone cover always sealed tight and released well. Maybe just a little twisting was needed after months of disuse.
3. Father-in-law admired them. (He has good taste in tools that get stuff done.)
To pull them loose, pinch hard on the knobby end while pulling from tube.
It is possible to destroy them. If you do manage to separate the yellow silicone sleeve from the white nylon "nail" you may be able to reunite them by pushing them back together. Obviously, be more careful next time. Or at less than $2 each, just buy more.
My first few Caulk Caps came from my local orange big box home store but they stopped carrying them. I was pleased to find them on Amazon. They are a "must have" gadget in my paint locker. Five stars, easy.

Highly recommend this Caulk cap sealer over all others

I have used a number of different caulk sealers, but this beats all others hands down when it comes to reusing used caulking. It prevents caulking from hardening at the tip entrance, secured from loosening from the caulk tube and no stick on the sealer from the caulk.
does what it's meant to

works much much better than painter's tape which is what I normally use; liked it enough to buy a second set which is what I normally do after I can't find something once; thus far only used it with water clean-up caulks; I seal the end with a wrap of painter's or electrician's tape
Strong

I ordered some caulking at the same time I ordered these. I used them to puncture the seal. They definitely got a grip cause I had to put a little muscle in it to get it off. I have no doubt these will keep my caulking from drying out.
I thought these were a gimmick.

When I first bought these I didn't have high expectations, but since they didn't cost much I gave it a shot. Boy was I surprised. These plugs have kept my unused caulk fresh for months. I love these things.
