Does not detect a car driving into the driveway

I installed this light for one purpose: to light up the driveway when a car pulls in. I mounted it about 12 feet above the driveway. It lights up when a person walks within 20 feet of it (nowhere near the 35 feet advertised), but it does not detect a car driving in at all. In fact, I am able to open the garage door and drive right under the light into the garage without the light turning on.
I have returned mine for a refund. It is completely useless to me. The only thing positive I can say is that it can illuminate the entire driveway.

The motion sensor is not very good. This light will not come on until you get within 5 feet of it. The light also comes on and off all night for no reason. I have tried different settings and nothing seems to help it. I bought their cheaper light as well and the cheaper one seems to have a better motion sensor. I installed this light near my driveway and a car pulling up in front of it will not even turn it on.

Wanted to love this light, but it does not work as a motion-sensing light. It is rugged, heavy duty, and well made as to the light housing itself. The lamp is very bright; I don't doubt that the lumens are as advertised. Problem is, after setting it up and re-adjusting it every night for about 8 nights, I can not get it to work as a motion-sensing light. It comes on at darkness every night, regardless of motion. It stays on without shutting off until it runs out of energy. Then it recharges the next day in the sun and the process is repeated. So, this winter, I have a very pricey, very bright solar LED that comes on at about 5 pm, runs until about 8 pm, and then does nothing. The motion sensor basically does not work. I have tried every adjustment possible. Great construction, great lamp lumens, horrible motion sensor. Wish this company would put some effort into improving the quality of the motion sensing part of this device.
Great light to set and forget, with no maintenance and no hassles

These lights are reliable and provide plenty of light. It's a pleasure to walk around my house and have light wherever I go, without flipping switches or any effort. I've installed four of these around my house and they have been working perfectly for about six months, without the need for any maintenance or adjustment of any kind. I had purchased one of the smaller units from Sunforce and was pleased, but didn't feel it was bright enough. I've relocated that unit to the inside of my garage, where it works very well, and the 120 LED lights I subsequently purchased provide plenty of light around the exterior of my house, mounted 15 to 20 feet high. It's wonderful not to need to worry about changing bulbs, affecting energy bills, or doing complex wiring, as these standalone solar power units are a breeze to install.
A small quibble is that the mounting bracket is a little too small to adjust the angle of the light very much. It has a small amount of room to adjust up and down, but there is no swivel for left/right adjustment. Also, it would be nice if it offered the option to add an additional or larger solar panel, which would help the one light that I've mounted in a location that gets less direct sunlight.

It does not stick to the brick outdoors with the suggested scotch outdoor tape! It's a lie!

The items are very good and do the job I'm looking to get done. I had an intruder outside my bedroom window and again outside my bathroom window 2 days later and these lights are bright and the motion sensor works well; HOWEVER, following the suggestion & purchasing the scotch outdoor take, I'm extremely disappointed that the tape did not hold the light up at all. It fell within the our and broke. I am a renter & cannot affix items to the brick bldg. Amazon makes it so hard to return things so I'm stuck with a light I want to use but cannot since I don't know how else to affix to the building.
