Only worked for a couple of months.

The product worked as advertised for approximately 3.5 months, then the microphone portion went out. I did a variety of troubleshooting to no avail. Purchased a new product by a different manufacturer, and now my mic is working again. I used this adapter about 4-6 hours per week, so not much usage compared to a bigger gamer.

Needed this when I got a new laptop that had an all in one 3.5 mm jack. My sennheiser headset is split cable.
It's been a few months and it hasn't broken yet - recommended for gamers and conference callers. ;)

This does what I wanted it to do: make it possible to use a condenser microphone with my Thinkpad that only has the combination mic/speakers jack. It seems like fairly good quality. However the rubber part that cushions the transition from flexible wire to hard connector ends is already partly broken on the headphones connector. It seems to be just a little bit too soft. The gold plating is also beginning to wear thin.

The product is good overall. It has both ports clearly marked. A microphone and headpohne logo etched in the connector. They snap in easily for both and is simply plug and play for the laptop. There is no special software needed. The product is light but has a quality feel. I have a condenser mic and it works perfectly with the adapter. The sound is not tainted in any way. The same goes for the headphones the sound comes through in HD quality like my headphones did without the adapter. This is a truly great product. And it comes in fast with amazon prime (a day early for me). And a reasonable price so that anyone can buy the product. This is my own words. I am not paid to write this.

I received a new work laptop that only had one jack for the microphone/headphone, so my existing headset would not work with it since it had separate plugs for the headphone and microphone. I assumed there had to be a solution, so I did some research and found this type of product. After reviewing multiple offerings on Amazon, this item seemed to be the best solution from a cost, delivery, and operational standpoint so I ordered it. I have had it for several weeks now and it has worked very well (in fact, I am on a telecom right now while writing this review!). Definitely recommended for the purpose of taking a headset with two plugs and using it on a laptop or phone with a single combined headset plug.
