Good overall watch.

Pros and cons with this G-Shock.
First the pros: The watch is definitely stealth. Despite all pics, there is nothing that shows up in the dark. Even the hands are dull and not outstanding unless you shine a bright flashlight directly on them. I haven't had it long enough for any timekeeping input, but if it is true to all of the Casio G-Shocks I have owned, I am sure it will be outstanding. Fit is awesome and the band is very adjustable. Not an overly large face and very well designed buttons which are concealed and easy to operate. Price for a G-Shock was superb and this is one great looking watch. .
Now the cons: The illumination is so subtle, the watch is nearly impossible to read in the dark and the light only stays on for a second..It does show up well under a red lamp, but that defeats the purpose of the stealth. There are no indications of the button functions, so reading and memorizing the manual is essential as you would not know the function of any button as they blend silently into the watch face.
Overall a three star as the illumination feature for nightime work made this hard to get past.
Love this watch!

I bought this watch for my husband to replace his Casio G-Shock g100 1bv model. This is his review about the watch.

"I loved my g100 model watch and had it for several years and never had a problem. The only problem I had on that watch, is I had it for so long, that the band started to dry out and crack. When I received this watch, I was happy to see it was just as well built as my previous watch, if not even better. It is a slightly bigger watch with a wider band. I like the overall look of the watch, it is all black with a black face which for me is perfect. I read the reviews before purchasing this watch, and some had complained that the face is hard to read In low light. I don't have too much of an issue with that. This is a military designed watch, so the backlight is not as powerful as a typical watch on purpose. So enemies can't see them at night. The backlight provides plenty of glow to see the digital readout and/or the hands. The time of the backlight can be adjusted which is helpful. I have had the watch for approximately 1 month and have worn it almost every day. I am just as happy with it now, as I was the day that I bought it. I have only used a small fraction of the functions on the watch, and I'm still figuring out how to use the rest. No complaints here. 5 star review from me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we would be more than happy to help answer them for you."
Wonderful Military watch!!

Bought this watch for my 20 year daughter, since is in ROTC in college and she loved it!! With all the kids wearing G shock watches, for the toughness, it was great to find one that was affordable and would suit all my daughters needs. This watch definitely serves its purpose and after almost 2 months, it is still working great! She is in sand and mud and dirt, and she has worn this watch and it takes a beating but keeps on ticking. The watch which is made by Casio is all black and has some wonderful features, such as being a stop watch, shock resistant,( which means she can slam it, hit it and throw it down and it won't break) plus a Timer, and it tells world time. It is durable and light weight, and looks awesome on her arm. This is a men's watch but I have to add that it looks very good on a woman, and my daughter is 5'2 weighing only 104 pds, and it still fits wonderfully on her tiny frame! I would definitely recommend this watch to family and friends, as we have already bought another, and I will be adding a third, in a different color. Shipping was exactly what we expected, we received it in 2 days thanks to Prime shipping. Overall, she is very pleased with her watch, and that makes me happy too. Look away!

I was looking for a watch that would replace my older version Casio G-Shock. At first glance, I thought it would be good because: 1) I liked my old G-Shock Casio, 2) This one has analog in addition to the digital display, 3) It looks similar to the older model. Then, I began to use it.

After reading the small, yet rather thick manual, I had the watch operational. I like the fact that once you enter a time zone, the analog hands automatically adjust the time. That's about all I liked.

The first night I wanted to look at the time, I discovered it's very difficult to read. There's not a lot of illumination (like Indiglo), and it doesn't last long. Secondly, the "Y" shape in the center of the watch that divides the sections gets in the way, making it even more difficult at night to see. The only good time to view anything is in the daylight.

In quality and durability, I'm sure it's just as good as my old Casio. However, this model was a big waste of money for me.
I don't see the fuss.

These watches get a bad name because of the light on them. The light illuminates the minute and hour hands just fine. Why purchase an analog and digital watch with you're always going to look at the digital time? Sure the light doesn't illuminate the digital part very well, but I can see everything else. The watch wears much lighter than you would expect for its size. Very durable, as I work with my hands and am in a very tough environment at that. Only con and this is a subjective con, is that the controls take some getting used to. Not the traditional controls of other digit watches I've used. Would I recommend? Of course. It's a nice watch, very professional and everything in this watch serves a purpose.
