I've had the Progressive chopper for nearly 20 years and the base container finally cracked. I was happy to find that Progressive is still making the same chopper. I am using the clear base container from the new chopper with all of the interchangable cutting blades and chopping lid from my old chopper.

Chopping vegetables, ease of cleaning

Great little thingie. It made my life so much easier, I can do pies, lasagnas, ragouts etc. etc. in minutes which enriched greatly our menu. My favorite is "baked veggies with whatever"; I chop everything I have in the fridge, put it on a baking sheet in layers, add spices and salt and some oil, and bake in the oven until ready. Smells and tastes great!

I bought already 3 of these. The problem is, the transparent bottom is made out of plastic that is much more breakable than the green top or the cutters. So it was the first to break in the two previous ones. Wish I could buy the transparent bottom separately instead of ending up with 3 green tops and 3 sets of cutters.

The newest thingie had a plastic mesh that goes between the pushing pegs in the upper green part. Great idea, made it so much easier to clean the upper part, I didn't even have to use the white scratching fork on this new one.

Also, don't buy the set with blades that are supposed to make long thin slices. It never works, you will have to push the slices diwon with the back of a knife, and the blades might damage the green pushing pegs. But the two sets of blades to make square pieces, one for smaller, one for larger, work great.

Would give it 5 stars if it were not for durability. Also, last time it broke, I had to throw the whole batch of chopped potatoes away because the transparent bottom broke similarly to glass, in a couple of large pieces, and a bunch of smaller needle-like splinters that I was not sure I could take out of the potatoes.

With all these caveats, and possible improvements, I love this thingie, it is so helpful and made my life so much easier.

I have only owned this for a month, so cannot speak about its durability. I've used it twice per week, so far so good. 2"X2" pieces works best. Chop a tomato, red onion and jalapeno, squeeze a wedge of lime, add salt and cilantro and you've got fresh pico de gallo in just a couple of minutes.

Pero a salido un poco débiles ya en cargue otro por que se me quebró y con este lavan 3 que compro es lo único pero muy bueno para picar.
