I've got two pistols with the rubberized grips, and I must say, they gave me a more confident and controllable grip on both weapons. I am very satisfied with these and will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a more solid grip.
The granulate grips are very aggressive and will provide positive control, but can grab onto clothing and rub bare skin raw. I would recommend it only for duty, home defense or competition. If you plan to conceal carry, take my advice and go with the rubberized option.

Hands down, the best grip! Price point is great too. I bought the talon grip for my m&p shield and fell in love with, so without question, I ordered one for my xd. Feels good in your hands, isn't bulky at all. I would recommend the rubber grip as I've read lots of reviews on the sandpaper-ish grip which isn't as comfortable on the hands. I'll probably get these grips for all my semi-auto pistols in the future.

Installation was very straight forward. I went to the range with them for the first time, and it just happened to be on a hot and humid day. My hands were sweating a bit, but I still had full positive grip and control over my firearm.

These grips fit great and feel great. Take your time installing for a perfect fit, heat up carefully and move heat around (hairdryer ok, be careful of heat guns) so the tape doesn't get too hot or rubbery and then work tape into the pistols nubs, moving around the grip area. Great advice offered in other reviews. Be sure to read those, too.
