I've only had this vacuum for a week. I've used it twice and it does the job well on area rugs, both short pile and frieze. It is very easy to use and lightweight, as well. The filter has a wrap-around mesh cover which protects it. After vacuuming, I emptied the container, took off the mesh cover, shook it and the filter out, then put it all back together. The instructions say to wash the mesh and the filter, but I didn't do that for my small amount of usage. We had visiting pets who love our rugs. When I cleaned the vacuum, I noticed a good amount of pet hair. That told me the suction was strong. I haven't tried the removable vacuum yet, but it is very easy to detach it from the stick. The cord is plenty long. There is no roller brush on the bottom part of this vacuum, just a suction hole leading to the dirt container. But based on the suction I felt while using it, and the amount of pet hair it picked up, I think it is a good vacuum. I'm glad we made this purchase!

I love using this but know that you are basically getting a high-power dirt devil on a stick. It does not have a roller or brush underneath like traditional upright models so if you have maid service that you want to use this, they may resist...(Molly Maids said they would prefer a unit with a roller and brush if we wanted them to use our unit)

That said, being someone who previously vacuumed maybe once every few months, I've used this probably twice a week since I got it. It's light, a breeze to tote around the house and I can stick it in a corner rather than the large unit I had which seemed super annoying to pull out of the closet, lug around and store again. I've done wood, tile and carpet with no problems.

I bought this for my office after our other cheapo Bissell shorted out. I bought based off the many good reviews. When I first opened the box I laughed because it is tiny! It was a snap to put together, and I really like the "stick" is adjustable. I decided to test it out. I used it as hand vacuum to clean out our file cabinet drawer that houses our fish food- some apparently got spilled- and I was impressed with the power, and my drawer was clean in a jiffy. Next, I tested it on our carpet, there was still some glitter hanging out since Christmas that our other Vacuum never took care of. Glitter is now gone. All in all, I think this vacuum is going to be great for myneeds- a 1200sq/ft office with 2 associates, in which I vacuum once, maybe twice a week depending on the foot traffic.

This is the best small vacuum you can buy. It is a delight to use, it has more suction than my $250.00 Hoover. It is so lightweight I can carry is easily with one hand. My only complaint is there is not a place to hook the cord so it drags across the floor as you vac. I use a velcro fastener to keep it out of the way. Other than that, this is a superb vacuum for the money. I'm already considering buying another so that I have an extra in case something happens with this one. I have 5 large inside dogs and thankfully, have concrete floors and this makes cleaning up dog hair a breeze, super easy to clean the steps too. I love that you pop off the handle and the floor unit and have a lightweight hand held vac. I'm amazed how excited I am about this vacuum.

I am absolutely thrilled with this vacuum! I own a large Dyson for animal hair which is an excellent vacuum. After moving to a home with all hardwood floors I've used the bare floor tool on the Dyson to clean my floors. Although it works well it's heavy and cumbersome and I found myself procrastinating floor cleaning because of it. I needed something designed for bare floors and light enough that it wouldn't add to my back pain so I could keep up better with the floors. This little vacuum is awesome! It's lightweight, versatile, and has powerful suction. It's easy to use and change from a floor vac to a handheld for furniture. It even has a telescoping handle that makes it easy to reach those cobwebs in your ceiling. The dirt cup was large enough to do my entire home (1400 square feet so not huge) without stopping to empty it. I did the whole house with no back pain! I love this vacuum and the price is even better! My only complaint would be that I would like a longer cord. I guess the test will be its longevity but at this price I can't imagine it won't be worth it.
