I know this may seem silly, but I purchased these to use as character markers on a battle mat (scale 1 inch) for dungeons and dragons. They fit perfectly in the one inch squares and there are plenty of colors to choose from. We also mark on them with dry erase markers and they've always come clean.

Love these buttons. I actually bought them to pimp out my copy of Patchwork (it's a board game). In the game, you are trying to piece together the best quilt, and the currency is in the form of buttons. The game comes with cardboard tokens for the buttons, but I wanted real buttons. These ones are the perfect size and color. I used some epoxy to make some stacks of 5 and 10, and they went together great. If you need to upgrade your copy of Patchwork, these buttons are perfect. And they actually are very sturdy looking. If you were using the buttons for sewing, I think these would be great on sweaters or jackets.
