Waffle weaves do not absorb well, at all

These Sinland waffle-weaves do not absorb as well as my inexpensive cotton towels. I believe it's because the raised "waffles" prevent most of the towel surface from contacting the dish.
On the other hand, the Sinland "Multi-purpose Microfiber Cleaning Cloths Absorbent & Fast Drying" towels are excellent, and absorb much better than cotton towels.
Buy these instead of the waffles - Multi-purpose Microfiber Cleaning Cloths Absorbent & Fast Drying (16"x24", greyx3)

i ordered these months ago and they were a dark grey and worked well. So ordered another set recently and this new set I received is light greet and very dingy and worn looking. Thinking about returning them. They don't match at all and now I'm concerned that the quality is not the same as well.

These work for dishes ok, but I would've preferred them to be thicker so they'd be a little more absorbent, then I would've given them 5 stars.

I really like these; they're a perfect size to dry dishes. They're a great texture and dry well. My mom commented on them too; she likes them. I just keep mine on my oven handle to dry and it works great. Dry my hands on them all the time too.

I don't know if it's where I keep the towels and maybe they get grease splashed on them, but they STINK! Even after I have washed them the smell is there. They are thick and solidly made, maybe they're so tightly woven they hold onto the smell; I have no idea, but it makes me crazy! Maybe I didn't wash them often enough; I'm going to try washing them alone and give them the works and see if it helps.

Best kitchen towels I have ever had! I had also purchased the matching 6-pack dish cloth. Waffle weave design looks and feels great. Microfiber dries super efficiently. I can follow instructions, so I washed them before using (no fabric softener). Shrinkage was minimal (now 23.5" X 15.5") and towel size is just right for me. Gray color is actually a gray-green (very attractive). I have since ordered another set in blue.
