Thick and strong. To those who think it's flimsy, try adding pea gravel in it before setting your pot on top. I don't think this tray would hold up otherwise to my 80+lbs pot/dirt/plant/water. I have the tray sitting on a tile floor. If I get any leaks, you can rest assure I will report this in my review.

This plant saucer is nice and sturdy. I have various types of round plant saucers and some are pretty flimsy. I was happily surprised by how sturdy this one is. It has eight round depressions (approximately 3/8 inch deep) to catch water, so your plant won't be soaking in extra water. I like that the sides slope up and the corners are squared off instead of pointy. I ordered the eight inch size and it is perfect for two of my square pots that measure 5 and 6 inches at the bottom. Both of these pots slope upward from the bottom dimensions, so the slope of this saucer is perfect. If your pot measures 6 1/2 inches at the bottom, you could put a layer of small pebbles in the bottom to raise the pot up enough to make it fit. However if your pot is larger that 6 1/2 inches on each side, the 8 inch saucer would be too small.

This is one of the only square saucers I could find for my 16" pot that didn't cost more than the pot and plant put together. This is solid, not too flimsy, and works great.
