Old cartridge finally gave up the ghost. After a lot of research I settled on this one, and am extremely pleased with sound quality and performance,
Great Cartridge for the Price
myrnaMay 31, 2017
I've owned a Marantz 6170 Turntable since Dec of 78. I have never paid more than $40 for a Cartridge. I've always had a little deep hum type feedback as the tone arm lowers. After seeing other turntables on YouTube and reading reviews I decided to spend the $170 for a much better Cartridge than I've ever had. Wow!!! The difference is unbelievable and well worth the price. After reading the reviews on this Cartridge and how they said that this was a great a Cartridge for the price I decided to buy it. I have to agree. I know there are cartridges for as much as $1500 or more which I'll never own. This will be the last Cartridge I buy and will replace the stylus once the diamond is spent.

This cartridge sounds fantastic on my Pioneer PL-518, gives a nice accurate sound in my opinion.
Nice Channel Separation
J. L. MaddockApril 1, 2017
The channel separation is much better that the AT95E. The IGD is also diminished. The sonics are very good, and probably exceed the limitations of the rest of my system. I upgraded a Fluance RT81 turntable, and I just started using this cartridge, so that's all I can tell you at the moment.
Better than Ortofon 2M Red
JukeboxtheaterMarch 16, 2017
I must confess that I wasn't expecting the Audio Technica AT120eb to be this good. It's taken my Denon 300f turntable to a whole new level of performance. The music now possesses what I can only describe as an inner glow, and seems that much more alive as a result. I also have another Denon headshell with a Ortofon 2M Red mounted. That is also a fine cartridge but just doesn't provide the same kind of magic.

UPDATE: I've since sold the Denon (with another catridge) and mounted the AT120 on my Technics SL-1310 turntable. Holy smokes! I had no idea this turntable could sound so good! Comparing the AT120 on this turntable with the Ortofon 2M Red mounted on a different headshell, the verdict was again the same.. the Ortofon is a very good cartridge, but the Audio Technica is a great one!
