When I first bought this dinnerware, bowls came in two sizes: little bitty baby bear porridge size and great big grizzly daddy bear salad bowls. And you had to buy 12 of the big ones. You could use them, especially for large nacho type salads, but ... really.

So I was so pleased to see that these bowls are now available. The dishes, bowls and cups have held up for years, so I'm not wore about buying the same set.

I only bought six, because the days when I made dinner for 8-12 people every night are past.

The Bormioli Rocco Murano Dinner Plates, Blue, Set of 12 are absolutely gorgeous. Mine came completely intact. The blue watercolor-esque design on is actually more elaborate and bigger than the one in the photo, definitely not a smear of color like one reviewer's experience. I think that person just got a bad batch unfortunately. The plates do not all have the exact same design but they are all extremely similar. The glass is thick and hefty and does not feel flimsy or breakable at all. I'm not worried about my boyfriend dropping dishes on them in the sink. They don't get super hot in the microwave, which is nice for handling. All in all its a beautiful set and I am very happy with them!

Beautiful. My first order arrived with a few smashed one's on the bottom but was replaced within 2 days! Wow I was impressed. I may be buying rest of set for Thanksgiving dinner. Worth the money. They just should wrap in bubble wrap and write fragile on box besides Heavy. Which btw the box was very heavy has husband pick up for me of ground.

There is no surprise here. The bowls were ordered to complete my 6 place settings of this style. And they are as described and pictured. But once in my hands, I am surprised at how shallow the bowls really are. I'm certain they will hold the same quantity as a typical soup bowl - but it's spread out with a rather wide bottom. I'm wondering if the soup is more likely to cool more quickly than if it were in a more traditional style soup bowl. No regrets - its the set I want and am committed to. And I love all the other pieces.

I want to like these more than i do. They absolutely do not look like the artsy ones shown in the picture. Most have a small smear of blue in them at best. I will commend them on accidentally shipping me one extra. But that too barely has any blue.
